Ubisoft announced a partnership with Carbon Games to bring AirMech Arena to Xbox Live online entertainment network from Microsoft. Assassin’s Creed 2014 most likely to be set in Paris on Xbox One and PS4
Some leaked images from Kotaku suggest that this year’s Assassin’s Creed will be set in 18th century Paris. The Paris-set screenshots which were obtained from an anonymous source were of an ‘early-in-development’ version of the game. It features Notre Dame and the Seine river in the background. For now the game is dubbed Unity, though it is not clear if this is the actual title or just a codename. The word around is that this year’s Assassin’s Creed will take place during the French Revolution and feature a new protagonist named Arno. A leaked trailer for the game Watch Dogs revealed that the open world cyber thriller would launch on the 27th of May. The video appeared first on Xbox.com a little before the expected official announcement by publisher Ubisoft. At the end of the trailer the release date is revealed. And in latest news, Ubisoft has announced the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions of Watch Dogs include exclusive DLC. Ubisoft reportedly working on two Assassin’s Creed games for 2014.
Examiner sources said to be familiar with these upcoming projects, one is being developed for the next gen consoles, while the other is being developed for PS3 and Xbox 360. There is really no mention in the report of how PC and Wii U fit into these projects, which also claims that the franchise “is under a massive re-scope”. When approached yesterday about the claims made in the report, a spokesperson for Ubisoft told CVG the company doesn’t comment on rumours or speculation. There has been some speculation regarding whether Ubisoft’s upcoming hacker-centric Watch Dogs is set in the same universe as Assassin’s Creed. Watch Dogs is about a hacker who fights the powers of a corrupt city and the company that controls it. Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD to come out early next year
We last heard about Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation towards the end of 2012, but the word around is that Ubisoft revealed that an HD version of the game is in the making and would be coming to PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. And we now know, well at least for PS3, when it will happen. Momchil Valentinov Gindyanov, Ubisoft Sofia’s Producer revealed on the PlayStation Blog that Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD will be coming to the PlayStation Network as a digital download on the 14th of January 2014 in North America.
