Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD to come out early next year

We last heard about Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation towards the end of 2012, but the word around is that Ubisoft revealed that an HD version of the game is in the making and would be coming to PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. And we now know, well at least for PS3, when it will happen. Momchil Valentinov Gindyanov, Ubisoft Sofia’s Producer revealed on the PlayStation Blog that Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD will be coming to the PlayStation Network as a digital download on the 14th of January 2014 in North America. And will go on to hit Europe on the 15th of January. However, no word yet on the 360 or PC. From what we hear, Liberation HD will notably improve on the Vita experience. “Our objective was simple,” Gindyanov mentioned, “[to] improve upon what worked on the Vita and adapt the gameplay and...

Assassin’s Creed 4 developers are PC fans

After a lot of talk about the fact that developers are unconcerned with PC optimization, Ubisoft has responded with a brief showcase of the design process behind games like Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Contrary to reports in the media, Ubisoft designers are “PC fans,” according to a new post by Communications Manager Gary Steinman. Steinman, a former editor of PC Gamer, had additional comments from Ubisoft associate producer Sylvain Trottier, who he says was “re-quoted out of context” in the media with regard to the PC version of ACIV. Trottier feels there is some confusion about how and when PCs are pushed to their maximum during the development process. Before any optimization work begins, there is an earlier phase that is all about discovering where the...

Watch Dogs Fan Film

Take a look at this incredibly awesome fan film made by a group called Infectious Designer. The video merely depicts an average day in the life of the Watch Dog’s protagonist. P.S- You will get even more pissed off with the fact that this game is delayed till March next year

Assassin’s Creed series might never take place in present day

Following the release of their tribute to the pirate life, a handful of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag developers took to Reddit and addressed a few burning questions from fans. They avoided addressing where Ubisoft would take the series post-Black Flag, but that didn’t stop them from sharing where they thought the series wasn’t going. Lead Writer Darby McDevitt had a hard time believing Ubisoft would set an entire AC game in the present. “I doubt we would do a modern day AC,” he writes. “There are just too many mechanics we would have to develop to make it believable… vehicles, plausible modern cities, a huge array of ranged weapons, etc. The modern day will most likely remain as a ‘context’ for all future games, something to tie them all together.” McDevitt also ...

Michael Fassbender assigned main role in Assassin’s Creed Movie

Wouldn’t you think that the people making the ‘Assassin’s Creed’ movie would pick an actor who has at the least has played the game. Well, you’d be wrong if you thought so. Cause actor Michael Fassbender is all set to star in the Assassin’s Creed: The Movie, even though he has never played the game. In a recent interview the actor said that the roles in movies such as  X-Men and Prometheus have given him the freedom to explore less commercial pieces. When asked about pre-production on the film adaptation of Assassin’s Creed, Fassbender said: “That’s definitely happening. We’re just developing the script at the moment. I’d heard of it but had never played the game. I don’t have a video game player … that’s not what they’re called. [Laughs] I met up with the guy...

Both these games were scheduled to release in the current fiscal year (which ends on March 31, 2014) but not will be released in the following fiscal year instead. Ubisoft have said that it expects Watch Dogs to come out sometime in the first quarter of its fiscal year (between April 1 and June 30, 2014) and The Crew to be released in the second quarter (between July 1 and September 30, 2014). Ubisoft posted the following statement from the Watch Dogs development team on theUbisoft Blog: “Our ambition from the start with Watch Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming. It is with this in mind that we’ve made the tough decisio...

Assassin’s Creed Heritage Collection

Ubisoft has recently announced the release of the Assassin’s Creed Heritage Collection, which is a collection of entries in the series that is set to be featured on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on November 8. The collection is currently only announced for release in Europe and will contain the original Assassin’s Creed, Assassin’s Creed II (Game of the Year Edition), Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations and Assassin’s Creed III. The Heritage Collection is painfully similar to the Assassin’s Creed Anthology released last year. The difference between the two bundles is that the Heritage Collection comes without the extra DLC, pretty packaging and various extras of the Anthology edition. And as a result is for £39.99 / €50, w...

Watch Dogs PC specifications leaked

The PC specifications for Ubisoft’s upcoming open world game Watch Dogs were accidentally revealed on the Uplay store, declaring the title’s PC edition will only support 64-bit operating systems. Since this little mix up, the Uplay page has since been pulled by Ubisoft; however, saved details from the site show its full specifications, starting from minimum requirements to recommended and the slightly more taxing “Ultra” specifications. “For Watch Dogs‘ minimum specs, players will require a DirectX 11 GPU with at least 1GB of VRAM, along with a quad core CPU and at least 4GB of RAM. Example GPUs include NVidia GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD 5770, and an Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 or AMD Phenom X4 9750.” “Users aiming to reach the game’s recommend...

Watch Dogs might run on 30fps on Xbox One, PS4

Creative director Jonathan Morin says “there’s always a balance, especially for open-world, between the simulation and the rest.” Ubisoft’s open-world action game Watch Dogs will run at 30 frames per second on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the game’s creative director, Jonathan Morin, told Videogamer today. “Right now the frame-rate we’re focusing on [is] a steady 30[fps],” Morin said. “There’s always a balance, especially for open-world, between the simulation and the rest.” “I think for where we are, the most important thing is the steadiness and [ensuring] that it’s always capped the same so when you play it, it feels right,” he added. Although he did confirm the frame rate, Morin said he is not sure i...

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag flaunts rampant violence

Too much pirating, not enough assassinating,” is one of the possible reactions to any of Assassin Creed IV: Black Flag’s thirteen bajillion trailers so far. Not from me, of course, because I think high-seas looting sounds great. For those of a more stabby inclination, here’s the video you’ve been waiting for. This multiplayer trailer is packed full of violence. And also the band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, for some inexplicable reason. Those who’ve dipped into the AC games’ surprisingly good multiplayer will recognise much here. That’s not necessarily a bad thing: hunting down prey, while simultaneously trying to make your hunter think you’re an AI NPC, is a pleasant enough way to spend some time. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is out November 1st. [News Source: PC Gamer]

Assassin’s Creed 4 trailer highlights next-gen features

At last, a new trailer gives a close-up look at all the fancy tech and effects in the open-world murder simulator’s posh versions, for people who like gawping at render passes. The list of pretty includes dynamic foliage, rolling seas and extra-pretty shallow waters, a weather system with oodles of rain particles and shiny dynamic rippling wetness, and global illumination. All versions have similar effects of course, and some like the dynamic navmesh for boarding ships are downright crucial, but they’re all next-gen on next-gen systems, see. AC4 comes to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U on October 29, then Xbox One and PS4. News Source: Shacknews
