Know Your Game: Assassin’s Creed Unity

So we’re continuing our “Know Your Game” segment with arguably one of the most anticipated game releases of the year–Assassin’s Creed Unity. The hype created around this game was immense and many were wondering whether it would live up to the standard set by Black Flag. Even before the game was released people had a fair idea as to what they were going to get from Ubisoft. No amount of trailers or pictures could emphasize enough how gorgeous this game actually looks. The size of the game is another aspect all together, it might looks smaller to Black Flag’s map due to its extensive nature but is just as rich and interactive, if not more. Anyway, why don’t you head on over to the video to check out our impressions of the game.   The mission tha...

Assassin’s Creed Unity Review

After bringing home the goods in the form of Black Flag, Ubisoft must have thought long and hard to think of an historical event that would fit right into their never ending Assassin versus Templar battle. Let’s be honest, after exploring the Caribbean with Edward Kenway , it was never going to be easy at all for them to produce something that was going to even come close to the ranks of Black Flag. But as you’ve probably seen through trailers and images, they’ve done a damn good job in making a beautiful recreation of Paris. And an open world sandbox that is so rich and dense that I felt there wasn’t enough time to explore everything the game has to offer.  The game has gone back to proper stealth based assassinations, while free running is taken to new levels with slick rooftop traversal...

Ubisoft Pranks Players With Pirated Versions of Far Cry 4

In rather funny news today, a bunch of Far Cry 4 owners involuntarily revealed that they had pirated the game by going online and talking about one of the glitches they had encountered. Ubisoft has devised a way to ensure that certain Far Cry 4 torrents contain a certain error which removes the game’s field-of-view controls. Without those controls, the picture becomes blurry and distorted. After a few more players ranted on about this glitch they found online, a developer at Ubisoft revealed the true reason for the problem. Alex Hutchinson, a creative director at Ubisoft Montreal, wrote on Twitter: “PC players! If you’re online complaining about the lack of FOV control … You pirated the game.” This trick by Ubisoft is the latest in a long line of pranks played by de...
