Making a video game isn’t a one man job, well at least making a good one isn’t. Everybody from the director all the way down to game testers, play a crucial role in determining how good or bad the game will turn out. All these people work together toward a common goal, which is to make a game that leaves an impression on gamers across the world, achieving success in both critical acclaim and sales. However, there usually is one person who leads the development of a game or of the industry in general. Their vision is what pushes the rest to work toward a goal. It’s hard to come up with a brilliant idea, but it’s harder to convince others of the same. It takes a lot of courage and belief in an idea for one to rise above the rest and see that idea through till its comp...
P.T, the beloved, scare-out-of-your-wits horror game may have disappeared, but all hope is not lost. After the news of its cancellation got out in June, Allison Road, the Silent Hill inspired first person horror title in back in works. In a statement to IGN, the creator of the game, Christian Kesler confirmed that he plans to continue his work on Allison Road independently, under a new studio called Far From Home, which he co-founded with his wife. “I’m actually really happy to be able to announce that Allison Road will continue,” Kesler said, saying he is still passionate about the project. “We had a lot of support online and some folks out there are just incredibly nice.” “It did take a bit of soul searching to find the drive again to work on Allison Road and to simply make a call ...
Ever since it was announced that Guillermo del Toro would be appearing with Hideo Kojima at the 2016 DICE Summit, fans have been anticipating some hints as to what Kojima’s first post-Konami game will be. Kojima hasn’t revealed many concrete details about the game just yet, but it is certainly a possibility that whatever it is will star The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus, who was previously working with Kojima and del Toro on the ill-fated Silent Hills. Kojima recently met with Reedus to discuss the newly reborn Kojima Productions. The details of that meeting are not public knowledge, but one has to imagine that it involved the two of them at the very least discussing ideas for a potential video game project to work on together. While that’s just speculation at this point, comments Kojim...
The now cancelled Silent Hills’ teaser, P.T., was pulled from the PS4’s storefront as suddenly as it arrived. But while it was up, it managed to capture gamers’ hearts, minds and most importantly, imaginations. Now even as outrage over Silent Hills’ cancellation is winding down and Konami is exiting the console gaming market for good, a team of 6 indie developers are in advanced stages of developing the spiritual successor to Guillermo Del Toro, Hideo Kojima and Norman Reedus’ lamentedly dead brainchild. Allison Road is being developed by Lilith Ltd. on Unreal Engine, which is also used by the gorgeous Kholat for the PC. It is, unashamedly, a fan game for P.T., and makes references and takes potshots at it.
A game based on the horror movie (that we all were pretty freaked out as kids) Friday the 13th which had Jason Voorhees, is in development, production company Crystal Lake Entertainment has announced. The game is tentatively titled Friday the 13th and will be an asymmetrical, cooperative and competitive multiplayer experience in which a small group of survivors will be up against a single player who will take on the role of the hockey goalie mask wearing psycho. “With a new television series on the horizon and plans announced for the 13th instalment of the film franchise, we felt the timing was right to finally explore Jason, Cam Crystal Lake, and the rest of the Friday the 13th story in interactive form,” creator of the original film and CEO of Crystal Lake Entertainment Sea S...
So I don’t think a whole lot of you have actually played this game. I happened to be over at my friend’s place who had played this game once and said it was the scariest game he had ever played and in fact competed with a few scary movies he had watched. Now keep in mind this friend of mine watches all sorts of crap from Japanese thrillers to English movies to, to cartoons…basically everything except Hindi movies. And I don’t like anything scary, it’s just like spicy food, I mean what’s the point, they both just make you cry at the end of it. Anyway, I figured it’s a game, how bad could it be? Man I could not have been more wrong. From the moment your character gets off the floor to the very end of the teaser where you get startled by this freaky ass girl, I was shitting myself. I sat ther...
