NFS Payback’s Open World Is Massive

If you were put off by the smaller regions and drift heavy tracks of the last few Need For Speed games, you’ll be glad to see what EA is doing with the new NFS Payback. Here’s a look at the map: The entire city is just a small part of the huge overall map. There are also a big desert section in the middle that will have a lot of off road tracks. The long stretches of roads and highways also feel like areas where you can just sit back and drive while enjoying the music. Overall, I like the look of the map and the design. All I can now hope for is that they deliver with a satisfying driving experience. About NFS Payback Need for Speed, one of the world’s bestselling video game franchises returns with a vengeance in the new Need for Speed Payback. Set in the underworld of Fortune ...

Forza Motorsport 6 Review

For a series hitting its sixth official release, more isn’t more enough, especially when last generation installments eclipsed the raw numbers on offer in this newest game. I can’t say conclusively this is the best-looking driving game on any console — I’ve seen good things in PS4’s Driveclub — but I am comfortable asserting that it’s the most comprehensively good-looking one, because it’s such a huge game. The jaggies that marred Forza 5’s cars are mostly gone, and tracks appear to have been reworked for environmental realism: you’ll experience clouds of dust floating across the tarmac at Laguna Seca, flocks of birds in the distance, and rain effects that will trigger your instinct to reach for an umbrella. As far as I can tell, every drivable car can be opened in Forzavista — Forza...

Need for Speed will Require an Internet Connection

Need for Speed, the new Ghost Games developed title, will have integral components that rely on an internet connection. Answering a fan inquiry on Twitter, the game’s official account said that the benefits of having an internet connection is “more variety and a more rewarding experience with friends.” Before later elaborating that being connected will “allow your friends to be part of your narrative experience, something only possible through connected play.” That comment is interesting when you look at the way Rivals handled it. That game too required an internet connection, but populated the world with AI players whenever the connection would drop. Need for Speed Rivals’ AllDrive system will return. It will be an improved version and will feature dedicated servers. Despite the online co...

Forza Horizon 2 to offer more than 100 hours of gaming

According to Forza Horizon 2’s creative director Ralph Fulton, the game has enough content to keep one bust for more than 100 hours. In an interview with OXM, Fulton talked about how a higher-than-usual percentage of people finished the original Forza Horizon. “When we were talking about ‘more, more, more’–something that we really wanted to take from Horizon was that lots of people finished our game,” he said. “To be honest, a really surprising percentage finished it. I mean I think the standard is like 10 percent of people finish a game and obviously that’s across all games, but we were significantly higher than that.” While that is certainly an accomplishment that Playground Games–developer of Horizon and the Xbox One version of Horiz...

This news came as a response to a forum member’s complaint that the PC beta test of the game is locked at 30 frames per second. MotoGP 14 Review

The world of motorsports is vast, but it has gone largely unrepresented on the latest generation of hardware (Both consoles and PC’s), as developers and publishers have taken their time to launch. That is until now, as MotoGP 14 has burst onto scene. {Of course it is still available on last gen devices and other PC Configs too} To start with Milestone, MotoGP’s Italian developer has given us more two-wheeled titles than anyone else in the business. It was the studio behind the SBK series, but since reconnecting with the MotoGP licence in 2013, Milestone has stuck to what it does best – and that’s delivering its classy style of semi-simulation riding physics beneath dated graphics. Thankfully, MotoGP 14 is a marked improvement while it’s never going to challenge the likes ...
