The reason why Destiny is not 60fps on the PS4 & Xbox One

Upcoming game, Destiny by Bungie is one of the few AAA games that will be scheduled to run at 1080p/30fps on both of the next gen consoles. The recent June Xbox One SDK updated helped Bungie to bump up the resolution of the Xbox One version to 1080p. But why did Bungie did not targeted 60fps? “It’s a lot of different things,” explains Jason Sussman who is the senior environment artist at Bungie. “I could get really technical, but I’d bore you to death. A lot has to do with performance. We’re cross-platform, so we had to be very delicate with all four consoles, making sure they have the same experience, that it looks as good as it possibly can on all these consoles. A lot goes into that, from geometry to textures to post effects to particles to how many players you get on the screen. We’re ...

Preorders of Infamous: Second Son likely to overtake The Last of Us preorders

Before you read this article remember that The Last of Us was one of the top games, if not, was the best game of 2014. This comes as quite a shock because Sony confirmed that preorders for Infamous: Second Son in the UK have exceeded the preorder numbers The Last of Us had at this point comparatively to when it was launched. Josh Walker, Sony Computer Entertainment UK product manager told MCV that Infamous: Second Son is “benefiting from the goodwill and buzz surrounding the PlayStation 4 and expect Second Son to be the biggest game in the Infamous series to date.” We aren’t exactly sure of the exact numbers but we know that Sony sold more than 3.4 million copies of the Last of Us in less than a month after it was launched.   Infamous: Second Son, which requires a 24GB install, ...

Mass Effect Trilogy to come to PS4, Xbox One?

Mass effect has been one of the best games of the current generations, BioWare general manager Aaryn Flynn has recently responded to a fan query from December about the studio redoing the Mass Effect Trilogy for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 featuring “1080p/high-res textures/60fps, etc.” Now, Flynn obviously didn’t make an announcement right then and there — but he did say the studio has given thought to such a re-release. “We have discussed that internally,” he replied. “If we can put solid plans together we’ll share. Great to hear you’re keen.” If BioWare can assemble the team necessary to make the compilation happen it will be a bonus for all the Xbox One and PS4 gamers 🙂 We’ve adored the original Mass Effect series for yea...

Thief lands on your console full of potential, but loses the plot midway

We were really excited with the build-up to this game and we’re a bit let down with the fact that Thief is a game that fails to step into the shoes of its predecessor in some ways. It is a game that lands on your console full of potential, but loses its steam midway. There are good things about this game, and they bear mentioning. This is the long-awaited follow-up to the classic Thief series, which is given a lot of credit for inventing the modern stealth game. So all you guys who have love stealth games, you should be excited 🙂 A visual update has been made which makes the game look wonderful when it’s running, though we have not checked out the first version of the game since it was release quite a long time back. The movement of the main character Garret, looks and feels great, and he ...

The makers of WWE 2K14 have confirmed that they are going to take on WWE2K15 and that it is already in development. And what’s more exciting is that it will feature on the next gen consoles. A Even though there is no word about whether or not this game would come out on the PS3 and Xbox 360, its fairly safe to assume that they would prepare the game in that version as those consoles are still very popular around the world. Take Two Chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick boasted the strong sales of 2K14, which also happened to exceed their sales projections: “Our WWE franchise has quickly proven to be a successful addition to our portfolio Sales of WWE 2K14 have exceeded our expectations and the title is being supported with add-on content including a Season Pass featuring many of fan-favou...
