PlayStation games may one day stream directly to PC’s Smart TV’s and even smartphones. Once this phenomenon becomes reality, PlayStation will be seen as more of a service rather than just a mere line of consoles. SCE Worldwide Studios head, Shuhei Yoshida said that the rollout of Gaikai’s cloud services on PlayStation 4 next year is only the start of what the company hopes to achieve, in an interview with Dengeki Online. “Speaking of the ultimate goal, we would like to deliver PlayStation games to all devices,” he said. “So we’re considering various things like PC, TVs, Blu-ray players, smartphones and tablets. Activision have made an official announcement stating that the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Apocalypse DLC is set to be released on the 26th of September on PC and PS3. Apocalypse is the fourth and final piece of downloadable content for Black Ops II which includes four additional maps. Two of them are new (Pod, set on a Cliffside in Taiwain, and Frost, set in a snow-covered European city) and the remaining two are based on previous Treyarch Call of Duty maps (Takeoff, based on Stadium from the original Black Ops and Dig, an updated version of Courtyard from World at War). EA has taken a huge leap forward with its subscribers reaching milestones for both its Battlefield 3 Premium service and its digital distribution platform, Origin. Battlefield 3 Premium subscribers have zoomed past four million in total, up from the 2.9 million subscribers reported in January. As of January, EA secured $108 million in revenue from the shooter’s content service, though no update on that figure is available in the latest financial report. Over 50 million users have registered accounts on Origin, an increase of over 20 million users since October of last year. Images reportedly showing off an alpha build of Battlefield 4 have leaked on site NSS. The images reveal loadouts, a map, menus and what’s clearly some very early in-game screenshots. This huge leak shows off Battlefield 4 screenshots of the menu, guns, dog tags, achievements, the new integrated social network, homescreen, weapons and its costumization and tons of in-game screenshots. Battlefield 4 will be available on the new generation and old generation consoles late October 2013. We are expecting to see more of the upcoming FPS from EA at E3 2013.
