Gearbox Software has revealed an update on the Borderlands movie as well as announcing plans to make a Duke Nukem movie. Now, most video game movies have been garbage. People seem to enjoy the Resident Evil movies but they’re honestly quite bad, the Mortal Kombat movie was also quite bad and don’t even get me started on the Super Mario Bros. movie which, let’s just say, doesn’t exist. The Splinter Cell is a new live-action movie from Atomic Productions that charts the life of Sam Fisher before he joined the Third Echelon. Expect terrorists, gunplay and of course, those iconic night vision goggles. The move was written by Andrew Adams and produced by Ben and Andrew Adams. We’ll have more on the project as it progresses, but Ben told me over email that Atomic Productions is aiming to have the film ready before the end of July.
