Free Shadow of Mordor DLC Announced
Warner Bros. and Monolith have revealed an ad on for its Lord of the Rings based action game, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor called the “Power of Defiance”. This ad on is free and is all set to launch on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The DLC has been launched for Xbox 360 and PS3 as of now. The DLC brings in a new character skin, Lithariel, who is described as the Warrior Commander of the Tribesmen of Nurn. As Lithariel, you will be set against Sauron’s forces through a new Test of Defiance challenge mode. The DLC also features in a new Epic Rune called Defiant to the End. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor brings fun and life to the Tolkien universe
The game starts with you as Talion, a ranger of Gondor responsible for guarding the Black Gate of Mordor. In an assault by Sauron’s army you and your family are killed, but you find yourself returned to life and connected with a mysterious wraith who gives you magical powers. Mechanically, Mordor is not an original game. The exploration, climbing and stealth all feel like an Assassin’s Creed title, while the combat is lifted straight out of the Batman Arkham series. Even so, the game throws enough diverse tasks at the player to keep things feeling fresh and interesting. To me, that’s great because I enjoyed both. I loved the stealth and parkour of AC and the combat of Batman. Put that in the LoTR universe and you have a great recipe for a game. Shadow of Mordor is a LOT of fun ...
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Updated Release Dates
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will take more time in development, and the release dates for these versions are moving to 18th November in the America and 21st November in India. The street dates for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One remain 30th September in the America and October 3rd in India. PC and Steam versions are now slated for release in the America and Europe on 30th September. Another PS4 exclusive news that again PS4 users will be more than happy to hear. The upcoming open world game, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, which is set in the Lord of The Rings universe, will have certain missions that are exclusive to those who preorder the game for the PlayStation 4. A post on the PlayStation Blog from developer Monolith Productions’ Community Manager Andy Salisbury mentioned that preordering the game for PS4 will get you the PlayStation Legion Edition missions which will have you battling two more Warbands in Mordor: the Blood Hunters and the Flesh Burners. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is slated to launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC on October 7, 2014, a new trailer for the game has revealed. Pre-order customers will get access to an exclusive Dark Ranger bonus pack, featuring a Dark Ranger character skin and a ‘Test of Power’ Challenge Mode, an exclusive mode that tasks players with defeating Sauron’s Captains to earn powerful Runes and gain a head start in the game.
