Microsoft gets ready to take on Google Glass

Microsoft is desperately working towards giving Google stiff competition in the augmented reality section by collaborating with partners to create“web-connected eyewear” that would serve as a Google Glass competitor. Rumors are going around that Microsoft is testing prototypes and “has asked several component makers in Asia to supply cameras and other key components for eyewear prototypes.” A few months back, Microsoft tried its hand with other “beyond the television” gaming experiences such as Illumiroom, however the technology was too expensive. But for the time being, the Microsoft eyewear remains a rumor.
