We all have our favorite Video Game franchises, be it Fallout or Assassin’s Creed or Metal Gear Solid. But even the best of them can stumble at times, and we’ve decided to take a look at the worst games in our favorite video game franchises. Some of these games are good, just not as good as other games in the series, while others are simply bad and not worthy of the company they keep. This will be a five part list, and you can check out Part 1 here. Fallout 4 No matter how much I tried to like Fallout 4, I just couldn’t get past how generic of an open world the series had become. Gone are the critical decisions, or the excellent dialogue systems. It’s just shooting radioactive mutants (akin to zombies), while yet another settlement needs my help! God Of War: Ascension Ascension...
Back in May Microsoft had announced Forge, the Windows 10 based map making tool for Halo 5: Guardians which made gamers rejoice in hope that the complete Halo 5 was coming to the PC. However, it was revealed that it was only the map editor, although it does enable online multiplayer against other PC players. Maybe it was that confusion why Microsoft has renamed it as Halo 5: Forge, releasing on the PC on 8 September. “Halo 5: Forge brings the entire Forge level-creation experience from Halo 5: Guardians to Windows 10, with support for mouse and keyboard for highly refined object placement and manipulation, higher-resolution displays (including 4k) for stunning graphic fidelity, the ability to host and play custom matches for up to 16 players, and a new content browser that spans platforms,...

It’s a great that many of the Xbox One exclusives are coming to PC. However, there is one question which still remains in the minds of many. Where is Halo 5? Phil Spencer had an answer to this specific question later during a media Q&A at Microsoft’s Build 2016 conference, attempting to explain why some games will remain exclusive to particular platforms like Xbox One. Spencer stated that “all” Microsoft published games will hit both platforms. Games will release for Xbox or Windows 10 depending on their suitability for either platform. By using RTS, Ashes of The Singularity as an example, Spencer stated that it’s not a great fit for console, even though Xbox One will get mouse and keyboard support during its lifespan. “If I enable keyboard and mouse on a ...
Halo 5 Guardians won’t allow players to vote on or veto upcoming maps when participating in multiplayer playlists. The news comes direct from 343 Industries studio head Josh Holmes, responding to a question on Twitter. @GDO_TWITS No voting or veto, just straight rotation. — Josh Holmes (@JoshingtonState) September 7, 2015 It’s kind of interesting to see this fairly standard feature being passed over in so many games – Destiny doesn’t have it either, for example. What’s the deal? On the one hand it’s annoying to have to play a map you dislike, and I feel like map voting gives designers an idea of what’s working and what’s not. On the other hand it can be super boring playing the same map over and over again because your matchmade opponents only like the one. Swings and roundabouts. An...
Microsoft dominated the floor with their show today, announcing not only games for Xbox One, but also for the Hololens and Windows 10. A healthy mix of not only new games, but also new features for the Xbox One was announced at the show. The most surprising and welcome of these announcements was Backwards Compatibility with Xbox 360 games. It works not only with titles on the XBL Marketplace, but also with retail discs. You can check compatible games here (PDF Document). These games are playable right now for Xbox Preview members and will be rolled out during Holiday 2015. Along with that a new User Experience and Xbox Game Preview was announced. Xbox Game Preview is an early access model, but it has free demos for all it’s games. Besides that, MS debuted a new Xbox Elite controller,...
On Tuesday Microsoft published the final cover art for this October’s Xbox One shooter Halo 5: Guardians. Initially the company had released only pieces of the art that you see below, but finally revealed the full image today. These images together really put things into a different perspective. Up until now, Master Chief kinda hogged the limelight as the stood alone for Halo 4 and 4 cover art, but things are a bit different now for his latest outing. As you can see in the post below, Chief is joined by a newcomer Spartan Locke, who will play a major role in the game; he’s even a playable character for some portions. And what’s more is that we can also see mysterious Spartan fireteams supporting both Chief and Locke. Microsoft says in a post on the Xbox Wire that these Spartan soldi...
Microsoft has come out with two brand new trailers for its upcoming sci-fi shooter Halo 5: Guardians. First seen on the official Xbox YouTube account, the trailers also confirm the game’s release date as the 27th of October this year on Xbox One. Microsoft had also post on the Xbox twitter account tweets for each trailer, with the text saying that they are two sides of the same story. One shows Master Chief and the other features newcomer Spartan Locke (video below), who refers to Master Chief as “the one who was supposed to save us all.” Last week Microsoft had released a “Hunt the Truth” teaser website for Halo 5: Guardians which only offered vague new details about the upcoming game. It is confirmed that Agent Locke would be a playable character in Halo 5 and C...
Following up reports from earlier this year, Steve Downes, the voice of Master Cheif, has said that Halo 5 won’t launch until 2015. And for this year we can expect Halo 2 Anniversary Edition. GameZone had an interview with Downes in which he said the following: “I think you may be ahead of yourself on Halo 5. I wouldn’t expect anything until 2015. What you can look forward to this year is an anniversary edition of Halo 2.” Downes’ comments were closely related to the claims of a NeoGAF poster who managed to leak Microsoft’s Xbox One-related plans earlier this month. The poster said Halo 2 Anniversary Edition will come out in two forms: a Collector’s Edition with Halo 5 beta access and a War Collection, which includes all of the above as well as Xbo...
