A few months ago, the creators of GTA’s OpenIV modding tool revealed that they were working to bring Liberty City to GTA V. The city, as it appeared in GTA IV will exist alongside Los Santos and will only be a short plane ride away. The team behind the mod looks forward to a possible spring/summer release and has revealed new screenshots. You can check these out below. Thanks to the efforts of the modding team OpenIV, Grand Theft Auto IV’s map Liberty City will be right across Grand Theft Auto V’s Los Santos soon. The group says that it has been working on it since the release of GTA V in 2015, clarifying that Liberty City will in no way replace Los Santos. It will be just across the ocean, in peaceful co-existence. “Liberty City is finally coming into GTA V in all its glory,” OpenIV said in a blog post. “Liberty City will not replace Los Santos or Blaine County, but appears across the sea.” To avoid any potential legal issues, the mod will not place Liberty City in GTA V.
