Sunny Deol is known for many things, his acting and dancing not being the two of them. But his antics make him a perfect candidate for the main role in a lot of video games (unless you’re playing Dance Central), and it would be unfair if we didn’t honour the angry, not-so-young man on his birthday. So, here is our list of the top five games that would have been perfect for Mr. Deol. Sunny of War (God of War, duh) Kratos doesn’t hold a candle to our Sunny paaji. Let’s face it, the anger, the rage and the struggle, these are all iconic trademarks of this great man. The Greek Gods shit their pants when he roars. If you don’t believe me, check out this clip of this underrated superhero pulling out a hand pump from the ground and then tell me if Zeus stands a chanc...
It’s easy to dismiss Gears Of War as another cover based shooter, glorifying violence and testosterone fueled aggression. And while those elements are essential to the franchise, Gears Of War is a masterclass in gameplay, visuals, pacing, and sheer delightful fun! The game starts with a series of flashbacks that pays reverence to what’s come before, and sets the stage for what’s to come. New series protagonists and characters are introduced in an affable manner, setting them apart from the old guard. JD and Kait are instantly likable, and those around are given enough attention and care so as to make them more than bystanders. A new threat is introduced, known as the ‘Swarm’, and while they don’t feel distinctly different from the Locust, there are confl...
During a recent livestream for Gears of War 4, Rod Fergusson from The Coalition confirmed that the game is officially getting a movie. A collaboration between Microsoft and Universal, the movie is still in very early stages and according to Fergusson, they’re not ready to announce a director or writer for the project. No further details were shared regarding the movie. However, he did shed some light on the movie. Fergusson said that rather than copying over a story from the Gears game, their aim is to make the best Gears movie possible, whether it follows the story in the games or not. Earlier in July, when asked about the possibility of a movie, he said, “There is some stuff going on that I can’t talk about today, but I’ll possibly be talking about that stuff very...
We have seen quite a few trailers at Gamescom this year, but sadly none of them were in 4K. But all hope was not lost – for Gears of War released a new gameplay trailer, in glorious 4K resolution. Focusing on the mission titled “Rescue”, it features JD, Kait and Del chasing down an enemy who’s not known yet, through a battered, old fort. On their chase, they come across two fierce Swarm foes – Pouncers and Drones – for the first time. In addition to making us feel pathetically sorry for not owning a 4K monitor, the trailer goes to show the immense improvement in graphics since the days of the multiplayer beta. Gears of War 4 is scheduled to release worldwide on 11th October for the Xbox One and Windows 10. It also has the Xbox Play Anywhere feature, mean...
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition remasters the smash hit Xbox 360 third person shooter, which initially launched back in 2006. Microsoft released the Ultimate Edition on Xbox One last summer, after confirming at last year’s PC Gaming Show that it would eventually arrive on Windows too. The game is currently unavailable for purchase, but the listing likely indicates that it’ll go live very soon. The Windows 10 version boasts “all-new ultra-high definition graphics up to 4K”, showcasing the “latest in PC gaming performance.” Those who pick up the Windows 10 version will also gain access to a Deluxe Weapon Skin Pack and 11 bonus multiplayer characters. Although the listing has since been deleted, Windows Central noted down all the details and new features, as...

As of today, you can play all the game modes in Gears of War: Ultimate Edition across the entire map catalogue. Gears of War: Ultimate Edition developer The Coalition has updated the game’s multiplayer portion to allow for all modes to be played across all 19 included maps. This is done by removing map restrictions from all of the game’s playlists. The Coalition is looking for feedback to see what works and what doesn’t. The developer wants fans to visit the game’s forums and tell them how everything is playing out. Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is available now. You can also read our review here. Remember back when the original Gears of War came blasting on to consoles and PCs? You’d stare in wonder and exhilaration as you kicked through doors and mow down enemies. Oh, and that excellent cover mechanism! Remember playing the campaign multiple times with friends! And then taking on the same friends in the competitive multiplayer. That was a good time. And the Gears of War franchise has only grown exponentially since then. And now, it’s all back. And, gloriously so! Microsoft’s remake of the decade old classic brims with nostalgia. And, a macho-sense of action, that never lets up. And, thankfully so. The game, though set in a dark time with the very survival of the human race at stake, is a ton of fun. Be it playing solo, co-op or the frantic competitive modes. Orig...

Developer The Coalition and its studio head Rod Ferguson are at E3 talking about the importance of establishing their Gears of War bonafides with the finally-confirmed Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. But in a behind closed doors info session on the game this week, there were indications that Ferguson and co. have plans to lay longer term groundwork for the series with the multiplayer community. Among bullet points about resolutions and framerates and map counts, a few things stuck out to me in particular. First, that Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will include a spectator feature for multiplayer matches, a de facto requirement for proper “casting” — i.e., for commentators to direct view of the action and make play-by-play analysis of matches in a live capacity. Second, Gears of...
Microsoft dominated the floor with their show today, announcing not only games for Xbox One, but also for the Hololens and Windows 10. A healthy mix of not only new games, but also new features for the Xbox One was announced at the show. The most surprising and welcome of these announcements was Backwards Compatibility with Xbox 360 games. It works not only with titles on the XBL Marketplace, but also with retail discs. You can check compatible games here (PDF Document). These games are playable right now for Xbox Preview members and will be rolled out during Holiday 2015. Along with that a new User Experience and Xbox Game Preview was announced. Xbox Game Preview is an early access model, but it has free demos for all it’s games. Besides that, MS debuted a new Xbox Elite controller,...
The juggernauts are finally starting to flex their muscles for their big E3 showings. Yesterday night, we finally got confirmation that Fallout 4 is in the works. With Bethesda planning on having their own conference this year, it’s a safe bet that more of the game will be shown off sooner rather than later. If we are lucky, it may even be playable. Even thinking about the possibilities sends shivers down my spine. Fortunately, that wasn’t the only big news coming out today, there is also more information the new Gears of War title will be at E3 this year in some form. Black Tusk is no more. Don’t freak out though, only the name has been relinquished. Rod Fergusson, head of the studio formerly known as Black Tusk, announced that the name The Coalition has now been adopted. In the message a...
