Six Upcoming First Person Shooters to Watch Out For This Season

An awful lot of the biggest games coming out this year are either RPGs or action adventures, which is fine unless you’re the kind of person I am and just cannot survive without killing mooks with things that go BAM! or BOOSH! for the rush of Adrenaline you get after fighting through hordes of enemies evenly matched to you. Fortunately for us, shooter season 2015 is right around the corner! Let’s have a look at the homocidal toys Santa has in store for good little murder happy boys and girls: Halo 5: Guardians (Xbox One) Halo 5 is the fifth game in the Master Chief saga and 7th or 8th (depending on whether you count ODST or not) title under the Halo series. Star Wars 1313 Resurrected?

Nolan North may have revealed the existence of a spiritual successor to the lamentedly cancelled Star Wars 1313 at a Q&A session at the MetroCon 2015. it is being helmed by Amy Hennig of uncharted (as in the entire series) fame, and being developed by Visceral. When asked whether it is Star Wars 1313, North replied that “it’s different, but along the same lines.” This is what he had to say about the game: “If you’re a big fan of Amy Hennig and her style of story, she’s gone to EA and is going to reboot a brand new Star Wars franchise in the style of Uncharted. I happen to know a lot about it and it’s going to be awesome.”

Dice Teases Battlefront 3 PC Footage

DICE teased us with footage from the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront sequel. It was the same map as the E3 demo (Tattoine). It’s only a 30 second teaser, and is the first PC footage of the game. Here’s their original tweet linked below:   The PC version of #StarWarsBattlefront has it where it counts, kid. Check out Tatooine, captured on PC. https://t.co/3Bx2Ma3LWy — EAStarWars (@EAStarWars) June 23, 2015

Star Wars Battlefront Reveal Trailer

This one is for those who might have missed the Star Wars Battlefront trailer by EA. This one was captured completely on a PS4 and it does look pretty sick as it takes us through planets such as Endor and Hoth, as well as speeder bikes, AT-ATs, and even the Millennium Falcon, all of which players can use in the game.   Battlefront launches November 17 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Battlefield 4 Still Has More To Come Dev Teases

Battlefield 4 has had a good year you could say. They have deployed several expansion packs, launched the Community Test Environment, and done several updates and tweaks to constantly improve the gameplay experience.   With just having come out with Battlefield 4’s Final Stand they hope that they have given gamers a lot to chew on for the time being. However, the company gave us a slight insight into what they might have in store for the future. “However, there is one thing we want to assure you: there is more content coming for Battlefield 4.” They haven’t really given out too much about their plans for the future but they did say they will let us in on their schemes when the time is right. “We will share details on exactly what this new content will be,...

2016’s Battlefield To Go Back To Military-Style Roots

As most of you know, a 2016 Battlefield game was announced last month and the franchise plans to return to their military focused root which is what the series is best known for quite unlike the cops-and-robbers Battlefield Hardline. EA CFO Blake Jorgensen made the comment today during the 2014 UBS Global Technology Conference. He said he has already seen the game and it is shaping up to be a “fun, new Battlefield. That will be a return to a Battlefield military-style game; more to come on that,” he said.   As far as annualizing the Battlefield series goes, EA CEO Andrew Wilson explained last month that, “We want to give Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline players more time to enjoy these games and immerse themselves in a game, the live service, and the community....

Titanfall’s DLC IMC Rising Coming to Xbox 360

Respawn Entertainment has finally announced that Titanfall’s third DLC expansion. IMC Rising, will launch for Xbox 360 on the 21st of October. The DLC was released for Xbox One and PC back in September. The DLC was first heard of in Gamescon in August where it was officially announced. It features three maps–Backwater, Zone 18, and Sandtrap. IMC Rising is the third expansion included with the $25 Titanfall DLC pass.   Those who don’t own the pass can buy IMC Rising for $10 a piece. But if you’re absolutely certain that you want all three, then the pass saves you $5. In addition to paid expansions, Respawn continues to support Titanfall with free stability/general improvement updates, while all non-map updates are also free. Now that all the scheduled DLC’s for Titantall have bee...

Battlefield 4: Premium Edition Hits Consoles, PC This Month

I think it is safe to say that EA had a hard time with Battlefield 4 when it was launched, as in that it didn’t ummmm….work. Fans were outraged when they found glitches in the game after eagerly awaiting its launch. However now there is no such issue anymore. And to perhaps celebrate this, Electronic Arts is re-releasing the game in Premium Edition form, with all add-on content included as part of the game’s season pass packed in. It’s a $60 package that hits retail on October 21, 2014.   The weird thing is that the game is listed for release on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows and Xbox One, but not for Xbox 360. Battlefield 4 Premium Edition is pretty much the same as the main game plus a subscription to EA’s “Premium” season pass. Other than the five DLC add-ons — Second Assaul...

EA to face lawsuit over Battlefield 4

So Rockstar aren’t the only ones under the lawsuit radar. There is a law firm that is looking at the possibilities of suing EA over Battlefiled 4, claiming that EA misled investors over the condition of the game. Just days before the game was released, several EA executives offloaded almost $5 million in EA stock. “Another law firm, Bower Piven, has filed the same class-action lawsuit, and they’re seeking for an EA investor that has lost at least $200,000 on EA stock purchased over the past few months. EA’s shares have been very volatile lately, due to the problems of Battlefield 4.” There is no doubt that all the problems that Battlefield 4 launched with have resulted in lost sales. The game was practically unplayable when it launched, and only now, after almost two mont...

Battlefield issues persist, affect EA stocks

EA’s stocks have fallen more than a shocking 5% since the issues with Battlefield 4 started on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. There were issues with bugs, servers, game ejections, and downloadable content, which forced developer DICE to diverted their attention and effort away from “future projects” and devote resources to repairing the problematic shooter. “Shares are currently selling for $21.21, versus yesterday’s closing price of $22.34.” DICE has managed to patch up the PS4 version of Battlefield 4, and have hopefully cleared it of its one-hit kill bug, crashing “when having a very large amount of Friends,” and mysteriously enabling audio when recording game footage. Issues that still remain to be fixed on the Xbox One and the PS4 are crash...

EA looking into unavailable Battlefield 4 DLC on Xbox One

EA mentioned that it was going to be investigating reports that the Battlefield 4 Second Assault DLC is, at the moment, unavailable to those who have bought Battlefield Premium on Xbox One. The DLC,  includes four Battlefield 3 maps updated for the latest title, and is an exclusive on Xbox One and will be free for paid-up members of the Premium service. But Premium users are having issues with this, and saying that a new entry on the in-game Battlefield store, where the Second Assault DLC would normally be found, is listed as NULL DATA. The pack doesn’t have any sort of description, and can neither be purchased or downloaded. “I know some of you have said already that it is being looked into, I wanted to just confirm that for you so you guys have a [staff] post to refer to,R...
