Vampyr – Review
Vampyr is a game where you play as Dr. Jonathan Reed who is back from war and a recently turned Vampire. After making a couple of horrible choices after becoming a Vampire, Jonathan decides to use his powers to help people and in general stop London from turning into a disease-ridden hell hole. The story has branching elements and it is really damn good. Visually, it nails it. With great atmosphere and lighting bundled with the weather system it really sets the tone and mood which is dark and gritty and somewhat scary. It does a fantastic job recreating London during WW1 and the Spanish Flu that plagues the city. Besides overall visuals the player and NPC animation in combat is good and at times excellent. Vampyr Gets New Screenshots, Combat Details Revealed
Dontnod Entertainment, the makers of Life is Strange, are working hard on their upcoming horror and gore filled title Vampyr, and it looks like the game is only to be more brutal here onward. A press release was sent out today included a bunch of details about the combat gameplay and also some new screenshots, giving a glimpse into the gory world of Vampyr. The country is tormented by fear as the hundreds fall prey to the fatal Spanish flu, filling the streets of London with dread and panic. Amongst all this, new predators arise, elusive, preying on those desperate or unfortunate enough to wander off into the city in the darkness.
