During Steam Dev Days, Valve’s annual conference focused on developers, Jeff Bellinghausen announced that Valve will release an update that adds DualShock 4 support to Steam’s Controller configuration settings, bringing the improved optimization for the beloved PS 4 controller. As reported by Gamasutra, developer Lars Doucet (Defender’s Quest) said, ““Believe it or not, when you use the PS4 Controller through the Steam API, it’s exactly the same as a Steam Controller. Oculus Touch Controllers Available From Dec 6, Cost $199
At Oculus Connect, the company announced that the Oculus Touch, the controllers for Oculus Rift will be available starting 6th December for a price of USD 199. The controller bundle comes with two games, The Unspoken and VR Sports Challenge, along with a secondary camera that can be put by the users in the play area. A third sensor, which will allow the controllers to room-scale will also be released along with the launch of Oculus Touch, for USD 79. Other titles will also be released for the Touch controllers, including games like Lone Echo and Arktika. Oculus also revealed a VR headset for which any external tracking will not be required. Far Cry Primal: Prehistoric Console & Controllers Crafted From Stone
Today, Ubisoft Entertainment has released a range of stunning photos of a hand-crafted Sony PlayStation®4 and DUAL SHOCK ®4 controllers, to mark the upcoming launch of Far Cry Primal on February 23rd, 2016. Working free-hand, accredited master carver and stone mason, Nick Roberson, was commissioned to intricately replicate these items from stone, to showcase the Stone Age era that the franchise moves to in the latest installment. In addition to the PS4 console and controllers, Nick Roberson was also commissioned to craft an entire gaming den from hand-carved finest Fletcher Band sandstone. Xbox Updates: Controller, New Model and More
Microsoft will be offering a new model of the Xbox One, with a 1TB Hard Disk Drive and a matte finish, as opposed to the glossy finish it sells with now, which is an atrocious fingerprint and dust magnet. Unlike the PS4, the Xbox One does not allow users to replace the HDD themselves without voiding the warranty. This new console will be bundled with Halo: Master Chief Collection for a limited period.
