For those living under a rock, the Ryzen Threadripper 1950X is AMD’s latest workstation grade CPU that comes with 16 cores and 32 threads. While it’s not exactly aimed at gaming, it’s a little hard not to wonder how it would perform in games. But thanks to Linus Tech Tips, we have a look at the first Threadripper gaming benchmarks. The tests have been done on an Alienware Area 51 machine that comes with the Ryzen Threadripper 1950X with a clock speed of 3.4 GHz and a 40MB cache. The CPU is priced at USD 999.
