Destiny to come to Steam and PC under Activision

Bungies latest game in the making, Destiny has already had its fair share of hype to its name, as well as it should. The hype didn’t reach its potential peak as it was said that the game would be console exclusive. But now that doesn’t remain true, and we’re excited all over again. “Internally, Bungie feels the current console beta version of Destiny was considered more of an Alpha. The console release will be called beta .9 and devs feel a PC release will really be a 1.0 . Plans are to have all bugs removed and sorted out for a March 2015 release. Destiny will be released under publisher Activision and will be available on Steam! The games release will support 1080p / 60 and a future update will enable 2k/4k resolutions.” What we just understood: Activision now taking ov...

Report suggest Destiny to sell 10-15 Million Copies

Activision is going out on a limb her by making a rather large bet on Destiny. And according to one analyst the game is likely to pay off something around 10-15 million copies which roughly translates into $600 to $900 million. Other games that have done well in this regard are Nintendo’s Mario Kart Wii, which has sold more than 45.5 million copies till date and of course Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto has, mind you shipped, not sold 33 million copies till date. A report by Cowen and Company analyst Doug Creutz mentioned that Destiny could become the best-selling game of 2014. Their projection is based on how many copies a game will sell based on the number of pre-orders and data from Amazon and NPD Group’s reports on physical game sales. According to Creutz, Destiny has the...

Storytelling techniques revealed in the new Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Trailer

Activision and Sledgehammer Games have put together this new trailer that shows us what exactly goes into not only making a game but how they go about portraying it through a story in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. According to creative director Bret Robbins, they are striving hard to achieve a certain level of realism in the story about future war. This process has been underway for about 3 years now and Sledgehammer has tried its best to make the most interesting and believable story possible. The studio got military veterans from several branches of the special forces involved in their production  to share their experiences and help shape the narrative. Robbins believes that these vets “bring a level of authenticity to the story.” Sledgehammer also has a special team workin...

Activision launching Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer demo on March 7

Activision this time around is planning to do something quite out of its stride, which is also something they have never attempted in the Call of Duty series. The publisher announced yesterday that it will host a free Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer demo on Xbox Live this weekend for Xbox One and PC. The promotions will start from the 7th till the 10th of March, and will mark the first time Activision has offered a multiplayer demo for a Call of Duty game.  During this time period, you will be able to try out 3 multiplayer maps (Strikezone, Warhawk, and Prison Break), as well as three multiplayer modes: Search & Rescue, Domination, and Team Deathmatch. You’ll also get to try out the Extinction game mode. It’s unclear if the Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer demo will requir...

Call of Duty: Ghosts hits $1 billion on launch day

Activision revealed two  days ago that  Call of Duty: Ghosts generated $1 billion in worldwide revenue on launch day. Activision made clear in its announcement that it “sold more than $1 billion of Call of Duty: Ghosts into retail stores worldwide as of day one,”  which technically means that this figure is based on the units sold to retailers and not on the number of units that ended up going to a consumer. In comparison to previous installments of the game, Call of Duty: Black Ops II took 15 days to reach $1 billion in sales, however this figure included units sold to consumers and not only to retailers. After referring to data from Microsoft, Activision also revealed that Call of Duty: Ghosts has moved to the top spot on Xbox Live as the most-played game this week. Activisio...

Call of Duty: Ghosts system requirements released officially

Nvidia put out some unofficial Call of Duty: Ghosts system specs a couple of weeks back suggesting that Infinity Ward’s peppy manshooter would require a 64 bit OS, and they were right. The Call Of Duty sitenow has the official specs, which adjusts the 50GB install to a 40GB one (lets face it, 30GB of that is hi-res dog), but retains the 6GB RAM requirement. Watch Dogs, another game designed to span the gap between current and ‘next-gen’ console hardware, needs similar tech. We can expect system requirements to quickly jump up when we start seeing ports of games that target the PS4 and Xbone exclusively next year. Will the similarity of the new console hardware to PC architecture make for smoother ports? I can only hope. Meanwhile, get yer Call of Duty: Ghosts system requi...

Apocalypse is the fourth and final piece of downloadable content for Black Ops II which includes four additional maps. Two of them are new (Pod, set on a Cliffside in Taiwain, and Frost, set in a snow-covered European city) and the remaining two are based on previous Treyarch Call of Duty maps (Takeoff, based on Stadium from the original Black Ops and Dig, an updated version of Courtyard from World at War).   The most fascinating thing about Apocalypse is that it features ‘Origins‘. It puts players back into a World War I era in France, where they encounter the return of the four main heroes- Tank, Nikolai, Ta...
