Bluehole, the developers and publishers behind PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds announced that the game has sold for than one million copies on PC via Steam Early Access in a matter of 16 days. Additionally, it has remained in the top three concurrent user count on Steam since its release on 23rd March.
PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds is a third person battle royale shooter where the last man standing wins. The game comes from PLAYERUNKNOWN aka Brendan Greene, the creator of battle royale game modes for titles like ARMA and H1Z1: King of the Hill. Greene is currently co-developing PlayerUnknowns’s Battlegrounds with Bluehole. Here’s his statement that accompanied the announcement by the studio:
“We couldn’t have reached this milestone without the dedication of our players and we are truly humbled by their passionate response. As we move to make improvements and deliver new content we will actively engage this growing fan base.”
In the game, players are dropped on an island where they must look for weapons and supplies in order to survive against other people. According to Bluehole and Greene, the game will remain in Early Access for a period of maximum six months. You can get the game right now on Steam for $29.99.
