Assassin’s Creed Chronicles is a new three-part installation of Ubisoft’s long-running action video game franchise.
The games will be released incrementally across 2015, with the first game—Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China—releasing April 21st. The new trilogy will be “2.5D” side-scrollers, similar to many of Ubisoft’s other UbiArt small releases—think Child of Light, Valiant Hearts, and so forth.
Each game will also feature its own assassin and distinct art style.
China has a painterly art-style, for instance, whereas Russia, which releases later this year, will have a “propaganda” art style and India will feature a more vibrant color palette.
China’s events follow assassin Shao Jun (from the animated short film Assassin’s Creed Embers) and takes place during the decline of the Ming Dynasty.
India’s story revolves around assassin Arbaaz Mir and takes place during the Sikh Empire’s preparations for war against India.
And Russia takes place just after the Red October Revolution and the fall of the Tsar, and follows assassin Nikolaï Orelov who, like Arbaaz Mir, was first seen in the Assassin’s Creed graphic novels.

Of course, this isn’t the main release for 2015 either. Developed by Climax Studios and Ubisoft Montreal, the Chronicles trilogy will only be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
