Holi Special: The Most Colorful Games Ever (Pt.3)

Yay, it’s the festival of colors, and if you’re anything like me, you’d rather spend the day indoors playing video games. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy a splash of dazzling colors. Here’s a list of top five visually vivid and colorful games. (Be sure to check out the Part 1 & Part 2 of the list)

Final Fantasy XIII

Final Fantasy XIII is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and later for Microsoft Windows. Released in Japan in December 2009 and worldwide in March 2010, it is the thirteenth major installment in the Final Fantasy series.

The game takes place in the fictional floating world of Cocoon, whose government, the Sanctum, is ordering a purge of civilians who have supposedly come into contact with Pulse, the much-feared world below. The former soldier Lightning begins her fight against the government in order to save her sister who has been branded as an unwilling servant to a god-like being from Pulse, making her an enemy of Cocoon.

Lightning is soon joined by a band of allies, and together the group also become marked by the same Pulse creature. They rally against the Sanctum while trying to discover their assigned task and whether they can avoid being turned into monsters or crystals at the completion.

Kingdoms Of Amalur

Rather than try to be too deep or too meaningful, Reckoning simply presents players with a direct feed into the vein of empowerment and expects you to gorge until you’re bursting. While the combat can often undermine that feeling of acquired strength, there’s still enough rousing success to be had that keeps one returning for more.

For anyone who needs little more than a sword, a shield, and some monsters to annihilate, there are few games more committed to delivery. For those addicted to looting dungeons and crafting increasingly arcane magic gloves, there are few games more willing to serve the goods. For those who want an RPG free of pretense and utterly devoted to indulgence, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is your game.

Rocket League

Rocket League is a physics-based vehicle soccer video game developed and published by Psyonix, released for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4 on July 7, 2015. A version for Xbox One followed on February 17, 2016, while ports for OS X and Linux are set to be released in 2016.

Described as “soccer, but with rocket-powered cars”, Rocket League has up to eight players assigned to one of two teams, using rocket-engine equipped vehicles to push a ball into their opponent’s goal and score points over the course of a timed match. The game includes single-player and multiplayer modes which can be played both locally and online, including cross-platform play between the PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows versions, and later to support cross-play between Xbox One and Windows computers with the potential for other networks to be included in the future.
