September is a good month for gamers, with some major titles coming out, including FIFA 17, Forza Horizon 3 and many, many more. So here’s a comprehensive list of the biggest video game releases for this month.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit Of Justice
- Release Date: 8th September
- Platform: Nintendo 3DS
In addition to the witty dialogue that the Ace Attorney series is known for, Spirit of Justice will add some new gameplay elements, including conducting seances in order to solve crimes. Much of the game will still be familiar to the old games, with Wright taking on cases in his engrossing, fun-filled courtroom drama. The demo for the game is available on the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
Bioshock: The Collection
- Release Date: 13th September
- Platforms: Playstation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC
One of the most loved franchises ever, Bioshock has been on the top favourites list of the majority gamers, so it’s no surprise that developer 2K Games wants to bring it to current-gen consoles. Moreover, PC gamers who already own Bioshock and Bioshock 2 will get access to the collection completely free of cost. Rapture, here we come!
Dead Rising Triple Pack
- Release Date: 13th September
- Platforms: Playstation 4, Xbox One
To mark the series’ 10th anniversary, developer Capcom is bringing the three last-generation titles to present consoles, including all DLCs at 1080p and 60 FPS. This forms a perfect lead up to Dead Rising 4, which is set to release in December this year.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2017

This year’s iteration of PES 2017 features adaptive AI that can adjust play style and tactics based on the opponent’s play style and add significant improvements to goalkeepers.
ReCore
- Release Date: 13th September

Coming from the man behind Mega Man, ReCore is an upcoming action adventure with a novel approach. Accompany your adorable robot companions and discover the secret of a deserted, barren wasteland.
The Witness
- Release Date: 13th September
- Platform: Xbox One
After witnessing tremendous success on PC and Playstation 4, The Witness is all set to release on the Xbox One. An open world puzzle game, it has a lot of depth and requires some thinking before you can actually do something.
Destiny: Rise of Iron
- Release Date: 20th September
- Platform: Playstaiton 4, Xbox One
Bungie looks to add new life to Destiny’s player base with this fourth expansion. Though it adds a ton of content, it’s still not known whether it’ll introduce some meaningful additions, or be just a repetitive rendition of the same mechanics.
NBA 2K17
- Release Date: 20th September
- Platforms: Playstation 3, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Windows PC
Giving players more control than ever on the court, NBA 2k17 looks to add a lot of new features to this beloved basketball game. The Legend Edition rightfully features LA Lakers star Kobe Bryant on the cover.
Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse

- Platform: Nintendo 3DS
In post-apocalyptic Tokyo, you are killed by a demon, only to be resurrected by a god who asks for his loyalty in exchange. Fight for your survival, as you slash demons or fuse them together (what?) in order to make your way.
FIFA 17
- Release Date: 27th September
- Platforms: Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Windows PC
IT IS POWERED BY THE FROSTBITE ENGINE AND HAS A NEW STORY MODE! COULD YOU POSSIBLY ASK FOR MORE, YOU UNGRATEFUL LITTLE INGRATE? Oh, also, there may be a blond Messi.
Forza Horizon 3
- Release Date: 27th September
- Platforms: Windows PC and Xbox One
This might just turn out to be our favourite racing game for this year. Set in Australia, the third installment in the Forza Horizon series looks more gorgeous than ever. It also features the Xbox Play Anywhere capability, meaning you can buy the game on one platform and carry your achievements and progress to the other.
XCOM 2
- Release Date: 27th September
- Platforms: Playstation 4, Xbox One
The sequel to the blockbuster sci-fi turn-based strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown is finally coming to the consoles. The game did pretty well when XCOM 2 came out on the PC earlier this year, and hopefully it’ll do equally well on the consoles too.
