Sony has released new software version of PS4 which has been codenamed as Kenshin. The new system software of PS4 weighs 250 MB and should probably be available for download for everyone across the world. However through few sources it was notable that, the system update wasn’t available for few regions but the good news if you are in a country where update is valid, the update gets downloaded onto your consoles automatically.
The new system update was rumoured first in the month of July this year, and finally with no further delay Sony has released the most anticipating, exhilarating, top notching and user friendly software update Kenshin-Update 3.0.
Well their are many key features which include uploading videos to Twitter, tweaks to the interface for streaming on YouTube, ability to change save screenshots in PNGs, a dedicated PlayStation Plus section and it’s been discovered that, this new update will provide people to gather, accumulate, share and connect with friends socially. Below is a list of all features those we could gather about the new update from Sony:
- PlayStation Plus: Call it a good news for PlayStation Plus users, from now players can access by clicking the big plus icon on the top right corner of your PS4 home screen, this actually means you can easily manage your membership, see the monthly free games to download, deals for PS plus members and other games which you’ve redeemed through PS Plus on PS4.
- PNG Screenshots: Previously on PS4 update 2.0 players were able to share their screenshots in a lower quality somewhere between JPG and JPEG. Update 3.0 provides players to share screenshots of higher quality i.e PNG. Navigate through Share> Share Settings> Screenshot Settings>Image Settings.
- YouTube Live: PS4 users can now live stream gameplay to YouTube. Live streams will be viewable across YouTube, including on the new YouTube Gaming app and website.
- Share videos clips to Twitter: As rumoured earlier Update 3.0 will provide you with a facility to share your videos on twitter provided with Maximum length of video as 10s, and Yeah! you always have an ability to trim your videos.
- Communities: Communities include a message board with general discussion, screenshots shared by players, and ability to join parties/games. PS4 will now have the ability to create communities based around shared interests, like games, genres, and more.
- Improvements in Favourite groups and Messages: Favourite groups has been added to the Friends column, this actually makes players convenient with the group of people they like to play games with. PS4 has also improved Messages by making it easier to access groups of people you chat and play.
- Stickers: From PS4 messaging app, you will be able to see a new option for Stickers. The 3.00 update will contain stickers themed around Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Knack, LittleBigPlanet 3, Resogun and more. These stickers are funny but fabulous.

- Events: Players can now view activities taking place in games you play most, as well as official broadcasts. Players will also receive notifications when the event starts, or if the timing changes. Follow your favourites Games and know about the chartbusters via Events Hub.
- PlayStation Live: Live from PlayStation app willmake you notified with every popular trending video from Sony.
- Now Playing/What’s New: Now playing will literally engage you with your friends. Share your screen, buy a game which your friend is playing, jump into a game which your friend is playing, party hard or chant for your friend.
- Request to Watch: “Struck in a game, Need any Help?” through ‘Request to Watch’ player can view a friend’s gameplay session, this actually happens through a live broadcast or ‘Share Play’ invitation to the person playing.
