Logitech has a horde of gaming accessories, and among them is the simple, yet impressive Daedalus Prime, the mouse for MOBA lovers. It has been designed for a specific group of people with a specific aim, which means it does a lot of things incredibly well that other mice don’t. It also means that the mouse lacks in a lot of places, which might be a hassle.

The Logitech G302 hugs the ground (meaning it’s quite low), and measures about 4.5 x 2.6 x 1.5 inches. It has a unique shape as well, like something inspired from a futuristic sci-fi movie. Personally, I did not find it very comfortable to use, especially when compared to Logitech’s own Proteus Core, Hyperion Fury or the newer Prodigy mice, but like I said, the Daedalus Prime has been designed with a very specific purpose in mind.
The G302 caters to the MOBA players, and provides them everything they want; something minimalistic and cutting-edge. The mouse comes with a modest six-button configuration: left and right buttons, one scroll wheel, one DPI switch button behind the scroll wheel and two side buttons on the left side, which can be mapped to any function. The mouse lights up as well, with a glowing logo and side panels on the rear end of each side, which makes it look like something you may find on an alien spaceship, and frankly, is what I like the most about the mouse.
The side buttons can be a little difficult to reach sometimes, especially for those who aren’t used to a mouse with low height. They’re responsive, but nothing special to mention. In any case, unless you heavily rely on the thumb buttons and have crucial keystrokes assigned to them, I doubt they will see much use apart from general back-and-forth while browsing. The left and right click buttons, on the other hand are pretty light and respond well, though not so light that you’d end up clicking them by mistake.
One of the best things about Logitech peripherals is probably the Logitech Gaming Software, which allows for per-profile customization, for each game that you play. The mouse comes with a sensor with a max sensitivity of 4000 DPI, and for each profile you can have a set of five sensitivity options, easily switchable on-the-fly. The G302 itself comes with one on-board profile, which you can tweak as well.
Led backlighting makes the Daedalus Prime look all nice and flashy, but the colour is limited to blue. Using the Logitech Gaming Software, however, you can customize it to remain static or have a breathing effect. The speed of the breathing effect and whether the logo lights up can also be specified by the user.
The Verdict
The Logitech G302 Daedalus Prime checks out all the boxes, but only if you’re into MOBAs and more MOBAs. The angular shape can be a little uncomfortable for some (like yours truly), but it gets the job done. The LED lights up in all the right places, and the look and design of the mouse are praiseworthy. However, for someone looking for something with a more generic shape and form, I suggest you take a look at the new Prodigy G102. It comes with a 6000 DPI sensor and is the same price range as well.
