Would You Kindly? :: BioShock Collection Review

Would you kindly play these games?

Going back down into Rapture 10 years later feels exactly like my first time. And that’s saying a lot about how well the game still holds up ten years later. Bioshock benefits from this remaster the most. the game still looks fantastic, evoking the same emotions it did ten years ago, while delivering an unforgettable experience. The underwater city of Rapture, and the madness beset upon it is a joy to delve into and unraveling it’s mysteries, or even losing yourself in them is fascinating.

The original Bioshock alone makes this collection worth it, given how few games have managed to attain a similar level of excellence even ten years later. The writing, and atmosphere are second to none, and the game is a must play experience. Also added here is video commentary by creator Ken Levine, which gives a lot of insight into what went behind creating the game, and the ideas around it.

Bioshock 2 was an underrated game, and while it’s not the same as it’s predecessor, it’s still a worthy game, with Minerva’s Den being one of the best pieces of DLC content in any game ever, It adds so much to the story, and is completely worth playing on it’s own as well.

Bioshock Infinite, while already a good looking game, looks even better on new consoles, and feels the most modern of all the three games. Series fans will enjoy soaring and ripping through Columbia, while new comers will be pulled in immediately. Upgraded visuals, and 60 FPS goes a long way in making an already great game feel even better.

The Bioshock Collection is one of the best bunch of games you could play today. It was even back then 10 years ago, and it’s good to see that younger gamers today have the chance to experience this masterpiece with this essential upgrade.
