It’s here! The highly anticipated, uber hyped PS 4 Neo has been finally revealed by Sony, though it’s called the PS 4 Pro. This iteration upgrades the three year old Playstation 4 with a better GPU, faster processor and adds support for 4K resolutions.
The PS 4 Pro can provide output for 4K and HDR videos. Sony’s Mark Cerny unveiled the console by showing off actual 4K gameplay footage from Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Spiderman. He said that the PS 4 Pro will be able to pull out new details from older games originally designed for the Playstaiton 4, but some games will get improved graphics to make full use of native PS 4 Pro support. COD Modern Warfare Remastered and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will get PS 4 Pro support on release, with FIFA 16 and Battlefield 1 to follow later this year.
“PS4 Pro is not intended to blur the line between console generations,” Cerny, said on stage. “Instead, the vision is to take the PS4 experience to extraordinary new levels.”
The new console also claims to improve the PS VR experience. Devs can increase the frame rate and go for more crisp scenes. YouTube and Netflix are developing new apps just for the PS 4 Pro.
Coming with a 1TB hard drive, the Sony Playstation 4 Pro will launch on 10 November and will cost around $399. The console seems to be Sony’s response to Microsoft’s Project Scorpio that was announced at this year’s E3 conference.
