Two years ago, The Coalition was launched as a creative boot camp for individuals who wanted to transform their ideas into a business. One of their main concerns was the disconnect between creative artists, industry experts, investors, and the audience themselves.
They have been since then pledged to create a space where this community can come together to cross-pollinate ideas and initiate a dialogue about the business of creation and creativity. While it started off with mainstream forms of entertainment media in the country, this year (4th-6th March, 2016) they have a dedicated section for Gaming, which we are attending.
This being written as the day one of the session ends. We have walked away quite impressed with the initiative, and the much deserved attention Video Games are getting in India. From being just a passing childhood hobby to being a full time job prospect, Video Gaming has come a long way in India. As professionals making a career out of their passions, we appreciate the support we get through such ventures.
We got to meet some great indie developers, both on the mobile and PC platform, attend panel chats, hear from MIT professors studying the e-sports trends, and a lot more.
We’ll be discussing the finer points of them in another article, so be sure to check back here for more.
And for more news and reviews, keep checking back at Gaming Central.
