For Assassin’s Creed fans this could be pretty disastrous news as there has been an even further delay in the movie. After a few stumbles and adjustments in production and schedule the live-action adaptation is all set to come out the 21st of December 2016.
ComicBook.com reports that Twentieth Century Fox officially announced the movie’s slot for December 2016. The movie has been pushed back almost a year as it initially scheduled for an August 2015 release.
The film which is based on the successful Ubisoft video game series of the same name, will feature “X-Men”‘s Michael Fassbender, who is to be playing the role of Desmond Miles—the main character from the games who lives in the present but through a software called Animus is caught in a war between Assassins and Templars.
Initially parterning with Sony to distribute the film, Ubisoft took the job up with Twentieth Century Fox instead. Director Justin Kurzel, who has worked before with Fassbender on “Macbeth,” will reportedly helm the film, and makes it the second time this duo collaborate.
