Recently at Wizard Comic Con in Nashville, Kevin Conroy, iconically known as the voice of Batman and also the voice actor of Batman in the Rocksteady Arkham Trilogy when asked if he knew whether or not “they” were doing/making a new Arkham game, he quite disappointingly replied,
“You know, I can’t believe that they’re not gonna do another one, but they’re not. Isn’t that amazing?”
But, this was already known as Rocksteady had initially stated that Batman Arkham Knight was going to be the last in the series from them. Conroy further said,
“They made literally billions of dollars on those games, but uh no, there’s no plan to do another one. Sorry.”
We’ve had Rocksteady previously state that they won’t be making any more Arkham games and now we’ve had Kevin Conroy himself state that as well but here’s the thing. A lot of times these voice actors are under NDA’s which don’t allow them to talk about projects that they are working on, in this case, it could be another Arkham game. However, most of the rumours and leaks have pointed towards WB Montreal developing the next Arkham game which will be a sequel to Arkham Origins. In Arkham Origins, Batman’s voice actor is Roger Craig Smith and not Kevin Conroy since they wanted someone who sounded like a younger and angrier version of Batman. So even if WB Montreal were making a game Kevin Conroy would not really know about that.
It’s safe to say that Kevin Conroy won’t be a part of the next Arkham game that’s being made. This also might be further evidence that Rocksteady are truly done with the story of The Dark Knight. Maybe we’re overthinking it, maybe we’re over reacting but the fact of the matter is that we just want more Arkham games, that too from Rocksteady and it’s sad to see that we most likely won’t get one.
