Warner Bros. Settles Complaint over Shadow of Mordor Marketing Campaign

Warner Bros. recently settled the charges filed by FTC for allegedly deceiving the customers during a marketing campaign for Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, by not disclosing the fact that they paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to famous YouTubers, including PewDiePie to post positive gameplay footage of the game on YouTube and other social media. Even though the videos were sponsored, Warner Bros. didn’t ask the influencers in question to disclose that information clearly, as required by the FTC’s endorsement guidelines. In fact, they told them to put disclosures in the video description box, which meant that most of them wouldn’t be seen at all without clicking the “show more” button. The result, according to the complaint, is that “Warner Bros., through its marketi...

Batman Arkham Knight Officer Down Gameplay Footage

Warner Bros has just revealed a 7 minute clip from Batman Arkham Knight which is claimed to be recorded directly from a PlayStation 4. If you ask me this video could even be labelled a trailer and still manage to pull it off. The video really showcases the graphical splendor of the current-gen-only title, in both its massive size as well as detail. The clip also showcases Batman taking on goons with his familiar combo chains and counters. Not much as changed in that aspect except perhaps the enhanced cinematography present throughout, with gameplay sequences stitched together.     Originally intended to be released in 2014, Batman Arkham Knight’s release date has been delayed again, this time to June 23. The game is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Shadow of Mordor Infographic

In case you were wondering, billions of virtual Uruks have been slayed to death in the Lord of The Rings based game Shadow of Mordor by its players. If you must know it is 5.65 billion to be precise. Warner Bros. Interactive come out with this infographic featuring the actions of all players across PC, Xbox One and PS4. The 5.65 billion Uruk kills include only those by players; fellow Uruks are responsible for another 1.3 billion kills, 2.8 million of which were bodyguards betraying their Warchief.   About more than 72 million players were victims of Uruks. A player death isn’t much of a deal, as in there in no penalty as such but there is a change in the mechanics of the game’s Nemesis system, causing Uruks to be promoted and become more powerful. This results in more memorable...
