Playstation 5 Confirmed By Sony’s CEO, Possible Release In 2019

While the Playstation 4 keeps doing better and better over time, Sony does have a new console in mind for the future, and it won’t be a half-step upgrade like the Playstation 4 Pro. In an interview with Golem.de, President and CEO of Sony America, Shawn Layden talked about their plans for future Playstation consoles, and had this to say: The Pro is really only to offer advantages such as 4K resolutions and HMD for players who can and want to use that. Add to this a more stable image rate and larger hard disk space. But who has a standard PS4 has no real disadvantages. Each of our games will continue to run on the classic PS4 and possibly better on the Pro. When asked specifically about the Playstation 5, he said, “Yes. It will probably be some time.“, hinting at a 2019 re...

Nioh’s Final DLC, Bloodshed’s End, Launches September 26

Nioh’s Final DLC, Bloodshed’s End, Launches September 26 I hope you all had a chance this summer to experience the legendary battles of our latest Nioh DLC, Defiant Honor! In order to keep the excitement alive, we’ve been hard at work on Nioh’s final DLC. It’s called Bloodshed’s End and it’s a perfect way to conclude the final chapter of the bloody Sengoku period. Our latest adventure picks up where we left off in Defiant Honor. The Siege of Osaka’s winter campaign was put to an end by a peace negotiation between Toyotomi and Tokugawa. However, conditions were harsh as Osaka Castle lost its secondary and tertiary enclosures, as well as its inner and outer moats, leaving just the main enclosure for the defeated. Inevitably, this situation led to an uprising and another war broke out just mo...

Top 5 Things Gamers Desperately Want Sony To Change About The Playstation

Despite having great games, and a significantly powerful console, the Playstation ecosystem does have major issues that gamers desperately want Sony to fix. While the great games, both exclusives, cross-platform titles and indies, go a long way in maintaining a healthy player base, both the Xbox and Steam on PC have done a better job of streamlining their platforms for the benefit of the players. Be it the refund policy, or backwards compatibility, there are areas where the Playstation needs to step up their game to really be for the players. Cross-Platform Play While Microsoft, Steam and even Nintendo have opened up their player bases to allow cross platform play across systems, Sony is stubbornly insistent on not allowing the same for the PSN network. While Sony’s ultimate reason f...

PlayStation 5 To Launch In 2019, Will Run Games At 240FPS?

Gamingbolt recently spoke to Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter, and asked him about the successor to the PS4. Pachter believes that the PS5 will be backward compatible with PS4 Pro (which also means that it will play base PS4 games) and it will probably release in 2019. He goes on to say: [interaction id=”595f3dd0f7ddd65e0bce07d9″] “I really like Shawn and I don’t think he is attempting to mislead anybody. The PlayStation 4 Pro is better [from a technical perspective] than the PS4, so I think that’s a half step towards the PlayStation 5. I think the PS5 will be another half step. So he is being honest when he said he is not doing a half step but the PlayStation 5…how much faster can it be? It will surely support 4K. Will it support 240 frames per second? Great. W...
