While the Playstation 4 keeps doing better and better over time, Sony does have a new console in mind for the future, and it won’t be a half-step upgrade like the Playstation 4 Pro. In an interview with Golem.de, President and CEO of Sony America, Shawn Layden talked about their plans for future Playstation consoles, and had this to say: The Pro is really only to offer advantages such as 4K resolutions and HMD for players who can and want to use that. D3 Publishers launched a new website with a countdown on it that ends on 19th September. 19th September also happens to be the day the Sony Press Conference will be held. No other information is known at this time besides the countdown on the website. PlayStation 5 To Launch In 2019, Will Run Games At 240FPS?
Gamingbolt recently spoke to Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter, and asked him about the successor to the PS4. Pachter believes that the PS5 will be backward compatible with PS4 Pro (which also means that it will play base PS4 games) and it will probably release in 2019.
