The Death Of Mass Effect

Mass Effect was a great franchise with a memorable cast of characters and an impactful gameplay. A great franchise; up until Mass Effect Andromeda, a great franchise. Andromeda messed up with the franchise, partly due to ugly and unprofessional animation, memorable characters and partly due to internal business strategies. The demise of Mass Effect can be briefly divided into two parts and I shall go over all of this one by one. An experienced Studio and Team: Andromeda was a great game if compared to itself, but when compared to its history and the modern rival titles, it wasn’t up to the mark. The main reason behind this was that Bioware Montreal, the studio behind Andromeda, was a support studio that handled DLC for previous Mass Effects. They couldn’t deliver up to the hype...

The Top 10 Best Video Game Soundtracks Every Gamer Should Listen To

Video games are a gateway to many fantastic tales that have powerful stories. Alongside these stories, there’s the music and soundtrack that further helps the narrative of the game and engrosses the player even more. So here’s a Top 10 List of Video Game Soundtracks that are my favourites and are a must-listen. Do keep in mind that this list is based on my opinion which is bound to differ from yours, and I’ve only kept OSTs of games that are more recent, so don’t expect Chrono Trigger here. Doom This soundtrack is perfection. It is thrilling, exhilarating, heart pumping, demon killing, head ripping ecstasy. This is my go to soundtrack whenever I need to get pumped up or need to listen to something badass, but that’s not all about this soundtrack. Mick Gordon, ...

On the other hand, sometimes there are sequels that are never released and players are left hanging on to the events from the end of a previous game. And then there’s the third kind – games that take forever to develop, build up a ton of hype, but fall flat upon release. Today we are talking about some of the biggest video game franchises that are being wasted right now in one way or the other – Who has a goldmine of classic characters, games, or ideas that have just sat and collected dust, when they should still be used today? Is there one IP in particular that has no business being ignored in today’s culture of gaming? Or are there franchises that need to take a ...

Top 10 Amazing Video Games With A Terrible Start

Some times great ideas and themes take some time to come through in Video Games. These games are overall great but fail to capture the player’s interest in the early hours of the game. This is a list of amazing games that had terrible or wobbly start: [interaction id=”59648b43d6d87f2d0f19f09f”] Metal Gear Solid 5 Phantom Pain Metal Gear Solid 5 is good game by all means but the same cannot be said for the prologue of the game. It takes too long to for the game to give us full control of the protagonist. In the first level you have to crawl through the hospital floor and wait for the next cutscene to queue. It can be tiring as it is about an hour long of crawling and cutscenes. Not a very good start for an open world game. But after the that level is through the game somew...

Top 10 Video Game Remasters We Really Want To See Happen

We all have fond memories of the games that we used to play as kids but sometimes when we go back to play them again they just don’t hold up that well. So here’s a list of Top 10 Games that we really need HD Remasters of. Chrono Trigger Chrono Trigger is one of the best RPGs you can play but don’t let that 16bit art style fool you. Originally released in 1995 on the SNES it was received with extremely positive responses. Made by a team of the best RPG makers of that era, the game still holds up really well. Eventhough it has been ported to the PS1, DS and mobile devices I and a lot of fans would love a remake of it in the style of the FF7 remake. If you haven’t played this game already, I highly recommend that you do. Metal Gear Solid 1, 2 and 3 We all know the whol...

Bioware Montreal Faces Downsizing, Mass Effect Put On Hiatus

The views on Bioware’s latest entry to the epic Mass Effect franchise, Andromeda have been mixed, to say the least. The game does have a lot of issue which need solving, and amidst all the different reactions, it’s natural to wonder what the future holds for the series. According to Kotaku, sources close to the studio have said that Bioware has turned Bioware Montreal (the studio that developed Andromeda) into a support studio, and put Mass Effect on a hiatus for now. Though it’s highly unlikely that the studio will pull the plug on the popular sci-fi franchise, we may not get to see another Mass Effect adventure anytime soon. Here’s the official statement Kotaku received when they reached out for a comment: “Our teams at BioWare and across EA put in tremendou...

The Animation Initiative: Mass Effect Andromeda Review

Mass Effect – These two words are enough to make thousands of people smile. The original trilogy brought to us a wonderful and engaging world of interplanetary and interspecies sociopolitical strife, where each choice felt like a tough decision. It mattered how you interacted with the people around you, and it influenced how they would react to you. Mass Effect 2, especially, was storytelling at its best. Right from the beginning where you witness Normandy being blown to smithereens, it engrosses and sucks you in, with its world and its diverse characters. Mass Effect 3‘s ending disappointed a little, but that never stopped the game from being an amazing journey. Now, Andromeda does not need any introduction, which is both fortunate and unfortunate. Everyone has seen the memes ...

The Mass Effect: Andromeda Gameplay Trailer We’ve Been Waiting For

A gameplay trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda was long overdue, and it’s finally here. Premiered at The Game Awards, we finally have some knowledge of what to expect from the upcoming Bioware title. You can check out the trailer below. The trailer showcases a lot of details, along with a narration that describes features that make this iteration different from the original trilogy. It looks a lot less cover-based than its predecessors, and a lot more action-packed. We still don’t know whether pausing and issuing commands to your squad are there, but it still looks kickass. You can teleport (or as the game describes it, Biotic Charge) or be like a Pyromancer and shoot flames out of your hands. Finally! Crafting and resource gathering will also be a focus of the game, which could...

Mass Effect: Andromeda’s Protagonists Are Brother And Sister

You knew that Ryder, the protagonist in Mass Effect: Andromeda can be played as either male or female. But did you also know that these two versions are actually siblings? In an interview with Playstation Access, Mac Walters (the Creative Director) revealed that not only the male and female versions of Ryder are siblings, but they will also exist in the game world at the same time. “What a lot of people don’t know, little surprise here, is that these two are brother and sister,” he said. “And they both exist in the game world at the same time. So if you’re playing as the sister Ryder, female Ryder, your brother is somewhere in the universe.” In the original Mass Effect trilogy, you could play Shepard as a male or female as well, but the character existed...
