Mass Effect: Andromeda Footage Shows off the Nomad and its Upgrades

Driving in an all-terrain kickass looking vehicle is making a huge comeback in Mass Effect: Andromeda. The latest video shows off the Nomad, which replaces the Mako from the original trilogy, and its various upgrades. As the video above (via IGN) shows, it’s possible to call down the Nomad from wherever the player has a forward operation base. Then, you jump into the vehicle, and off you go to explore the uncharted areas of various planets. In the video the character heads off to look for resources to mine. It also talks about the upgrades to the Nomad, including a six-wheel drive, which lets you access steep areas with ease. Some other upgrades feature a handbrake for better control, shields for extra protection, and upgrades to boost for more speed. Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to...

Mass Effect: Andromeda Multiplayer Beta Cancelled

Last year on 7th November, also known as N7 day among Mass Effect  fans, Producer Fabrice Condominas teased that a multiplayer tech test would take place for the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda. However, in a recent blog post, Bioware announced that it won’t be happening. “Join us at the BioWare Base (room 2AB) and be one of the first to join APEX and defend our new home in Andromeda. Featuring different character kits each day, this is your chance to try out Mass Effect’s fast-paced cooperative multiplayer on PC,” the post reads. “While we will have live multiplayer at PAX East, there will no longer be a multiplayer tech test for players at home. Thank you to everyone who signed up. We look forward to seeing you in Andromeda.” When PCGamer reached out to the ...

Additionally, Bioware also confirmed that Andromeda’s size on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be somewhere between 45 and 60 GB. On the PC, the file size is apparently about 55 GB. Crafting in Mass Effect: Andromeda Lets You Create Your Own Krogan Hammer

The Mass Effect series never included crafting as a big component, but that’s about to change. Not only do you get to create weapons in Mass Effect: Andromeda, but apparently you can also name them. Lead Designer Ian Frazier teased on Twitter by announcing that the game allows players to craft their own Krogan-styled hammer and name it GRABTHAR’S HAMMER. To that, senior designer replies that he created his own assault rifle and called it FAST, and a sniper rifle which he decided to call FURIOUS. Why do devs have all the fun? @tibermoon Today in my in-progress playthrough I made an Assault Rifle named FAST and a Sniper Rifle named FURIOUS. — Justin Perez (@thejustinperez) January 17, 2017 That’s not all. When asked whether the game will also have more melee weapons, Frazie...

New Mass Effect: Andromeda Gameplay Trailer Revealed at CES 2017

During the NVIDIA CES 2017 keynote, a new gameplay video for Mass Effect: Andromeda was released, and though a bit short, it offers us a glimpse of what we can expect from the game. The footage shows various features, like the ability to change class on road using the new dynamic profile system, along with some alien busting-slash-roasting action. For a game that revolutionized the cover-based shooters, it doesn’t seem to involve much cover taking at this point. I guess we’ll have to wait for the official release to find out. You can check out the trailer below: In other news, the release date for Mass Effect: Andromeda has been announced officially. The game will release on 21st March in North America and 23rd March in Europe for the Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Reg...

Finally, the wait is over. Well, not exactly but now we know till when we need to wait. Bioware has announced that Mass Effect: Andromeda will be releasing on 21st March in North America and 23rd March in Europe. Aaryn Flynn, the General Manager of Bioware revealed the dates in a message talking about how Andromeda is the most ambitious Mass Effect project and why the release date had been kept secret for so long. “Over this holiday break, developers at BioWare took home a version of the game in what we call the ‘holiday build.’ This is a longstanding studio tradition that goes back to the early days of the original Mass Effect. Many load up a PC or console and go home to play as much as possible at their leisure,” Flynn wrote. “Coming back from holiday, the f...

The Mass Effect: Andromeda Gameplay Trailer We’ve Been Waiting For

A gameplay trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda was long overdue, and it’s finally here. Premiered at The Game Awards, we finally have some knowledge of what to expect from the upcoming Bioware title. You can check out the trailer below. The trailer showcases a lot of details, along with a narration that describes features that make this iteration different from the original trilogy. It looks a lot less cover-based than its predecessors, and a lot more action-packed. We still don’t know whether pausing and issuing commands to your squad are there, but it still looks kickass. You can teleport (or as the game describes it, Biotic Charge) or be like a Pyromancer and shoot flames out of your hands. Finally! Crafting and resource gathering will also be a focus of the game, which could...

Mass Effect: Andromeda’s Protagonists Are Brother And Sister

You knew that Ryder, the protagonist in Mass Effect: Andromeda can be played as either male or female. But did you also know that these two versions are actually siblings? In an interview with Playstation Access, Mac Walters (the Creative Director) revealed that not only the male and female versions of Ryder are siblings, but they will also exist in the game world at the same time. “What a lot of people don’t know, little surprise here, is that these two are brother and sister,” he said. “And they both exist in the game world at the same time. So if you’re playing as the sister Ryder, female Ryder, your brother is somewhere in the universe.” In the original Mass Effect trilogy, you could play Shepard as a male or female as well, but the character existed...

Mass Effect Andromeda Gets A 4K Gameplay Trailer For PS 4 Pro

A new gameplay trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda was showcased at the Playstation Meeting, showing off the 4K capabilities of the Playstation 4 Pro. The trailer features very unfamiliar alien environments, a new power jump mechanic and the new default Ryder character. As the first official gameplay for the game, it offers significant insight to what we can expect from the game. I mean, 4K is all good, the PS 4 Pro is cool, but I’m definitely more psyched for Andromeda. According EA, a new trailer is on the way, and they will “officially open the doors to the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe”. I’m guessing it will be some sort of Early Access/Alpha/Open Beta kind of thing. Check out the cool high-res trailer below.   Mass Effect: Andromeda is expected t...

‘Mass Effect: Andromeda’ Trailer Song Linked To ‘The Witcher 3’?

While Witcher 3 has garnered praise from all quarters. Even the upcoming Mass Effect game’s trailer at the now concluded E3 2015 featured a western-style song. Which apparently had a lot to do with the game’s story. Reportedly, it also links to CD Projekt RED’s “The Witcher 3” A tweet by Yanick Roy of BioWare Montreal. The lead is supplemented by a Reddit survey leak that was popularized about three months ago.   Intrigue emerged when one “Mass Effect” fan asked Roy if he could change the E3 trailer’s Johnny Cash theme to something more befitting of the franchise’s typical soundtrack. The industry figurehead replied by saying “there are very good reasons for that choice of song for the trailer that should become clear later o...
