Whoa! Research Shows $3.45 Billion Spent On Video Game Content In The U.S. During The Third Quarter Of 2013, A 17 Percent Increase Over Same Time Period Last Year According to a recent report from the NPD group, U.S. consumers spent 3.45 billion dollars last quarter on video game content — up 17 percent from the same quarter in 2012. Leading the charge was Grand Theft Auto 5, which shattered all single-day sales records with an $800 million dollar opening.
