Infinity Ward possibly bringing back Soap MacTavish DLC for COD: Ghosts
Infinity Ward tweeted a few days ago and are hinting at the possibilities that John “Soap” MacTavish, protagonist of the Modern Warfare games, may be returning to the series. We’re not really sure what form he’s gonna take in the DLC. The above image was the one Infinity Ward used in the tweet which shows Soap doing his regular thing- being a total badass. The “Continue YES NO” caption riffs on his ultimate fate in Modern Warfare 3. All of this is more or less rumors at this point but its only sensible to assume that Soap will appear in a multiplayer Legends Pack, as Captain Price and Vladimir Makarov have previously. Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught DLC free for tryouts this weekend, only for Microsoft consoles though
Call of Duty: Ghosts is offering up its recently released Onslaught DLC for free this weekend. However this free sample will only allows players on Microsoft consoles to explore 4 extra maps without having to shell out any cash for it. They’d obviously hope you do end up buying the pack eventually of course. Activision will release a trial version of the DLC as a download on Friday which is the 21st of March and will be playable up until the following Monday. It contains all four of the new maps– Fog, Bay View, Containment, and Ignition–and the Maverick dual assault rifle/sniper rifle. Xbox One, 360 to get COD: Ghosts villains-themed customization items March 4
Activision Community Manager Dan Amrich announced on his blog earlier that Xbox One and Xbox 360 players will be able to buy villains-themed customization items for Call of Duty: Ghosts’ multiplayer mode on March 4. So Call of Duty fans can expect to see some familiar faces. The Makarov Legend Pack gives you the opportunity to play as the antagonist from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Vladimir Makarov, which will include a Makarov-themed Personalization Pack with a weapon camo, patch, reticle, playcard, and background and will cost as much as the Captain Price Legend Pack which is $4. And for $2 each, you can also play multiplayer as Gabriel Rorke, the villain from Call of Duty: Ghosts, Irman Zakhaev, the villain from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, or some random soldier in a Hazmat suit...
Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC feature Captain Price as playable character
Even though Ghosts and Modern Warfare are set in two separate Call of Duty universes, they’re both developed by Infinity Ward, so there is some common ground which opens the path for a crossover. And the crossover is the Captain Price: Legend Pack, which adds Captain Price, voiced over by actor Billy Murray, as a playable character in Ghosts multiplayer and squads matches. Not just that, but he also comes with his own Personalisation Pack. For $3.99 you get Price, a weapon camo, a player background, a player patch and reticule and not to mention the moustache too. Dates out for Call of Duty: Ghosts’ Onslaught DLC
Activision has announced that Onslaught, the first DLC pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts’ will be available on PS3, PS4 and PC on 27th February. Onslaught initially launched on the 28th of January on Xbox Live. On all other platforms its priced at £11.59 / $14.99 on its own, or it can be acquired as part of the £34.99 / $49.99 Season Pass. The add-on features four new multiplayer maps, the new Maverick dual-purpose Assault Rifle/Sniper Rifle, and the first chapter in Extinction, a four-part episodic story involving aliens.
