The director of the well know game God of War III, Stig Asmussen has left Sony Santa Monica, and reasons as to why he did so remains to be known. “SCEA can confirm that Stig Asmussen is no longer with Santa Monica Studio,” a Sony representative told IGN. Asmussen more than just a familiar face at Sony Santa Monica as he joined the company in 2003 and worked on God of War, God of War II and God of War III. He however did not work on God of War: Ascension and was leading development on a new IP that Sony shut down last month. Valve is slowly getting very comfortable with the idea of having a huge video screen being mounted to its face, as it was announced that the beta client of Steam is to add a “virtual reality mode” option. The latest beta version of Steam does away with the “-vr” command line option and replaces it with a button in the view menu, which only appears for those with SteamVR installed when a head-mounted display like the Oculus Rift is detected. Valve have revealed a new image of their latest version of its Steam Controller prototype. It still remains quite similar to the version that originally came out in September. But what’s new is the two diamond-patterned button layout added to the slot initially reserved for a touch-screen display. Let us know how you find the controller and join the debate in our forum on this thread. This doesn’t mean that the Steam Controller has lost its touch functionality. Namco Bandai has disclosed what the minimum and recommended system requirements for the PC version of the upcoming game Dark Souls II. The game is set to come out on the 25th of April and promises “increased texture resolution” and an “enhanced frame-rate option.” The system requirements were revealed on the game’s Steam product page and don’t look too exhausting compared to some other games soon to come. This comes as quite a shock because Sony confirmed that preorders for Infamous: Second Son in the UK have exceeded the preorder numbers The Last of Us had at this point comparatively to when it was launched.
