Shooter/RPG Immortal: Unchained Announced For PC, Xbox One And PS4

Immortal: Unchained is a hardcore action RPG set in a dark, sci-fi universe – a unique take on a well-known sub-genre, blending a third-person action shooter with a hardcore RPG, coming to the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, and PC via Steam in 2018. This is the end; the game’s central character is unwillingly unchained and released by the warden. Given only the instruction that time is running out for the world and that your skills are now needed, you must set off with no memory of who you are or what you do, and find any information you can from the game and the characters you meet. However, the truth is not always clear as characters will always put their own agenda first, and discovering the truth is just as much a challenge as the gameplay and just as much...

Moons of Madness Announced For PC, Xbox One and PS 4

Critically acclaimed independent game developer Rock Pocket Games announced today that their new H.P. Lovecraft inspired Martian tale Moons of Madness will blast off to PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2018. Moons of Madness is a first person, psychological horror game that explores the internal struggles of astronaut Shane Newehart and the supernatural events that occur on research station Trailblazer Alpha, the first scientific outpost on the planet Mars. In Moons of Madness, Rock Pocket Games integrates the cosmicism style found in H.P. Lovecraft’s hallmark to the game’s narrative, environment and gameplay; the sense that ordinary life is a thin shell over a reality that is so alien and abstract in comparison that merely contemplating it would damage the sanity of the ordinary person. To render ...

ReCore Gets A New Trailer At Gamescom, Gameplay Doesn’t Look That Solid

When ReCore was first announced at the E3 conference this year, the game looked like delightfully surprising, a fresh take on action-adventure video games by the great minds who gave us classics like Metroid Prime and Mega Man. Now, combining those two can’t possible seem to be a bad idea, can it? However, the gameplay trailer may tell a different story altogether. While we’re definitely not saying that the game will be disappointing, it  certainly does seem a little different than what we had expected it to be. Looking more of a take on Capcom’s Lost Planet than Metroid Prime and Mega Man, it seems to be a little too stiff when it comes to the gameplay, whether it’s the navigation, jumping or the general motion. We certainly hope it’s just the trailer and not...

Gears of Wars 4 Gets a 4K Gameplay Trailer at Gamescom

We have seen quite a few trailers at Gamescom this year, but sadly none of them were in 4K. But all hope was not lost – for Gears of War released a new gameplay trailer, in glorious 4K resolution. Focusing on the mission titled “Rescue”, it features JD, Kait and Del chasing down an enemy who’s not known yet, through a battered, old fort. On their chase, they come across two fierce Swarm foes – Pouncers and Drones – for the first time. In addition to making us feel pathetically sorry for not owning a 4K monitor, the trailer goes to show the immense improvement in graphics since the days of the multiplayer beta. Gears of War 4 is scheduled to release worldwide on 11th October for the Xbox One and Windows 10. It also has the Xbox Play Anywhere feature, mean...

Assassin’s Creed: Unity trailer stands out

First up during Microsoft’s Gamescom press conference, Assassin’s Creed: Unity. This time, we get a nice montage of game footage, as Arno runs around, above and through buildings, before the trailer cuts to some impressively populated crowds. It’s not the most action-heavy of trailers, but it shows off the setting and tech nicely, and hints at some Assassin-based lore nonsense. Assassin’s Creed: Unity is due out 28 October.
