Forza 5 becomes the fastest selling racing game in Xbox History
Microsoft announced that Forza 5 is the fastest-selling racing game in Xbox history. Stats indicate that more than one third of Xbox One owners have bought the Turn 10-developed racing game, which came out on the same day as the console. Microsoft has shipped 3.9m Xbox One units globally, so a third of that is about 1.3m in sales. This news came out when Turn 10 revealed Road America, the first track add on update for the game. It is free and will be automatically added to the Career events. The Road America booster pack includes five cars. Out today, it is a free bonus to Forza 5 Car Pass owners and, Microsoft said, is in addition to the six monthly DLC packs that Car Pass owners will get through to May 2014. Forza 5 to come complementary with Xbox One Pre-orders in UK
Select UK retailers are now offering a free copy of Forza Motorsport 5 on pre-ordering the Xbox Day One Edition Console to those gamers who prefer racing over their national sport. Back in August it was announced that FIFA 14 would be given free with Xbox One Day One Edition Consoles in Europe while UK gamers have an option of going with Forza 5 instead. While pre-orders have more or less become scarce in this region, corporate Vice President of marketing, strategy and business Yusuf Mehdi announced yesterday that additional pre-order SKUs had been squeezed in worldwide. Forza Motorsport 5 will not require a one-off connection to Xbox Live in order to play it however, a the game will require a connection at some point in order to finish the career mode.
