Tomyris leads Scythia in Civilization VI
2K and Firaxis Games have revealed that Tomyris will lead Scythia in Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, launching on Oct 21st for Windows PC. Tomyris assumed leadership of her group of nomadic pastoral tribes in 530 BC upon the death of her husband, the current chieftain. Her exploits were mentioned in the works of several great ancient writers such as Herodotus, Strabo, Polyaenus, Cassiodorus and Jordanes. The most notable story about Tomyris involves the Persian ruler Cyrus the Great and his efforts to invade and subjugate Tomyris’ people. Cyrus and his troops planted an unattended camp with a healthy supply of wine in Scythian territory. Sean Bean To Lend His Voice For Civ 6 Tech Trees
Game of Thrones and The Lord of the Rings star Sean Bean is the voice of the tech trees for Sid Meier’s Civ 6, as confirmed by PC Gamer. After voicing the game’s E3 launch trailer, he is back as the voice behind the historical quotes that play after each time you complete a research on a new technology. After Star Trek star Leonard Nemoy lent his voice to the tech trees of Civ IV, followed by Morgan Sheppard whose voice was featured in Civ 5, Bean is the third big name to be associated with the Civilization series. Shen’s Last Gift Available For XCOM 2
2K and Firaxis Games have announced that Shen’s Last Gift, the third DLC pack for XCOM 2, is available now. Shen’s Last Gift is included as part of the Reinforcement Pack. In Shen’s Last Gift, XCOM has uncovered intel on a hidden ADVENT facility, which we believe to be the testing grounds for potential new alien weaponry. Lily Shen, Chief Engineer on the Avenger, has volunteered to accompany your most elite squad as they infiltrate this facility, so that she may help uncover and assess what impact this new alien tech will have in our efforts to reclaim Earth.
