Ubisoft at E3 2019

Roller Champions A blend of roller skating, American football and basketball, this is a skill based team PvP game. It has players rolling around in an oval arena with three players on each team. The stadiums are enclosed with it actually being sort of doughnut shaped but oval. The goals are circular vertical rings stuck on the walls of the arena. The visuals are flush with neon colors and bright aesthetics. It’ll also have tackle mechanics and you can steal balls from the opponents. Different arenas will be available to play in which range from a beach to a metropolis at night. Stated as being as fun to watch as it is to play, Ubisoft probably aims to pitch this game as the next popular Esports title.  Gods and Monsters This new title is brought by the team behind Assassin’s Creed Od...

Watch Dogs Legion at E3

The third iteration in the open-world action adventure series is set in a futuristic London where disorder is ironically the order of the day and chaos runs wild. The government has “fucked off” and extremists have taken over. The UK has progressed into a surveillance state with drones around every corner tracking your every move. Organised crime has carved up the boroughs of London into their territories. In the face of this authoritarian regime and the cartels, an underground resistance has grown organically. This resistance which is called DedSec has their own in-house AI, Bagley which interacts with the player regularly. He offers up curt witticisms and talks to the player with that dry British humor. This game is built on a gameplay mechanic that will enable the player to control any ...

Stadia Connect at E3

This time at E3 Google revealed some more details about the game streaming service including pricing, requirements and the games launching with it later in the year. A refresher for the uninitiated, Google Stadia was revealed for the first time three months ago as a new generation gaming platform where the games instead of running on your personal devices are run on Google’s servers and streamed directly to whatever device you want. It has been years in the making and aims to make gaming more accessible for everyone. Stadia makes the whole downloading and installing process unnecessary as the games are already ready to play from the get-go on Google’s servers. Your favorite games can be played on any screen be it tablets, TVs, PCs or phones. Requirements Well, about the phones, Google has ...

Xbox at E3 2019

The Xbox E3 Press Conference had some big announcements from a new console to a new developer joining the Xbox Game Studios. And, of course, over 60 games were announced too. Here are some highlights from the press conference : The Outer Worlds Developed by Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division, it is due for release on October 25. Set in a space colony in the farthest reaches of space, Halcyon, the game imagines a dystopian future where corporations own and run everything and late stage capitalism reigns supreme. Nobody has risen against the oppressive corporations until a stranger arrives on the planet. He has the chance to both be both a villain or a hero according to the narrator. Replete with No Man’s Sky-esque environments, explosive weapons, and a dash of 1984’s Big Brother, O...

This version as an expanded storyline with more monsters to control and fly. You can finish battles much quicker this time around. Older Dragonquest worlds are also available to explore, so you can revel in the nostalgia of the 8 bit era. Luigi’s Mansion 3 An update to the wacky series comes with many new gameplay mechanics and a new multiplayer game mode. UploadVR’s E3 VR showcase

The hour long showcase from UploadVR, a media site had a couple of surprises and new releases for PlayStation VR, Oculus Quest, and gaming-PC platforms. Here are a few highlights from the event. Meat Fortress This update to the Early Access VR gun sim Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades developed with the approval from Valve, with obvious reasons, is a rather meaty homage to the ever popular FPS Team Fortress 2. It replaces the comical characters with hot dogs clad loaded out with the original TF2 arsenal. It has multiple configurable challenges and has three different “meaty modes of mayhem.” Owing just more than an anagram-y name to the orignal TF2, this meat themed shooter will arrive on VR platforms on June 28. The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets Crafted as an interactive story-te...

Top 10 Games You Probably Missed From E3 2017

We’ve covered the highs, lows, disappointments, and no-shows of E3 2017. Here is the last list of games we might have looked over or missed but are still really cool and promising. Sonic Forces This has been announced for quite some time now. However, we finally got an in-depth look at it. There are 3 primary “modes” in the game. Modern Sonic, Classic Sonic, and Forces Sonic. That new mode is one that mixes the two other modes, and allows you to create a new character based on an animal, and play the game your way. The new game looks pretty cool, and launches on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC some time later this year. Call of Cthulu This is another one we’ve known about for quite some time. It was announced back in February of 2016. Finally, we have gotten a trailer to give us an ide...

Top 15 E3 2017 No-Shows

E3 2017 was not one of the best in recent years and you could say it was a “filler” year. A lot of no shows or surprise announcements this year, with most games being previously announced games. We’ve covered the highs and the lows, time to cover the no shows that we were expecting or hoping for. Cyberpunk 2077 After being teased in January 2013, we haven’t heard or seen much about it.  With the recent claim of the hackers who stated they would release information and documents about the game to the public, CDPR stated that they would show the game when it was “ready”. We expected maybe another trailer or announcement of some sort but we got nothing. Death Stranding Hideo Kojima had announced before E3 that Death Stranding would not be shown. Then he sta...

How Nintendo Won E3 2017

This year’s E3 was lackluster, to say the least. Most of the games that were shown were games that were already announced before, either at E3 2016 or during the time leading up to E3 2017. Also, a lot of same games for different platforms or VR version of games were shown, heck even DLC was showcased at E3. People had high hopes from Sony this year after their amazing press conference last year but they fell short instead we saw Nintendo rise up. Nobody really expected Nintendo to have such a catalog of games to announce and the games they showcased were quite honestly, pretty damn good. So let’s talk about how Nintendo “won” E3 in 2017. Super Mario Odyssey was already announced with a little teaser that we had already seen. We were expecting more information about...

Top 15 Games Showcased At E3 2017

Now that all the press conferences are over and most of the announcements and showcasing is done, let’s take a look at games that I found were the best at E3 2017, a kind of mediocre one all things considered. Battlefront 2 EA seems to have learned from their mistakes from Battlefront. They’ve added a single player story mode, soldier classes, and all eras are now playable. They’ve also stated that there will be now Season Pass as all the DLC for this game will be free. Beyond Good and Evil 2 When the director of the game comes on stage and is almost in tears, you know how much it means to him. The cult classic is finally getting a 2nd game but it’s actually a prequel.  However that does not matter and people are hype none the less. Shadow of the Colossus Now, you m...
