According to the series’ producer Eiji Aonuma, Nintendo Switch might be up for another Zelda game after Breath of the Wild. Speaking to IGN, he said, “I haven’t been able to fully use all of the new features of the Switch … There could be the possibility of another Zelda on Nintendo Switch.” Expanding on what the new game might entail, he goes on to say, “I think the core element of Zelda gameplay kind of stays the same. There’s the main character development as well as characters you meet along the way, and then you learn new things as the character develops. Nintendo had recently confirmed that its upcoming addition to the Zelda franchise, Breath of the Wild has been delayed and will no longer be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch. Though no more details were given regarding the release date, it might have been (inadvertently) leaked when the game is coming out. Target’s website with a listing for the title now shows a release date for Breath of the Wild. Considering that when retailers generally use the beginning or the end of a month as placeholders while listing products on the website, this might be pretty close to the actual release date. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Nintendo’s biggest upcoming title has been pushed further back, and will miss the launch date for the Nintendo Switch. According to Eurogamer, a new report which details the game’s current state of development, and which tallies with information provided to them by sources close to Nintendo, “four-to-six months of testing will follow” before the game launches. Breath of the Wild was first announced in 2013 and was set to launch for the Wii U in 2015, but since then has been delayed multiple times. People are really excited about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and frankly, it’s quite hard not to be. Nintendo’s upcoming addition to the Zelda franchise promises to offer a lot more than its predecessors in terms of gameplay and mechanics, as shown by a bunch of trailers recently released for the game. Check these out and bask in the glory of the wild. The first trailer is all about Link running in the vast varying land, showcasing different movement mechanics, from sprinting, to gliding to something that is very close to snowboarding.
