Skyrim And Fallout 4 To Get Mod Support And 4K For PS 4

Will they, won’t they, first Bethesda announces that Sony has declined any mod support for Skyrim on the PlayStation 4, but in the latest blog post, the studio says that both Skyrim SE and Fallout 4 are going to get mods on the PS 4. Geez, make up your mind, will you? But cribbing aside, it’s time for PS 4 players to rejoice. Why? Because not only will both your favourite Bethesda titles be getting mod support for the PS 4, but Skyrim will also have native 4K support for the PS 4 Pro right from the launch date. Here’s the official announcement: “We’re excited to announce that mod support is coming to PlayStation 4 for both Skyrim Special Edition and Fallout 4. Additionally, we’ll also be supporting the new PlayStation 4 Pro with both titles. Skyrim will have these f...

Jeremy Soule Says He Has No Involvement In Upcoming Skyrim Concert

A concert featuring the music from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was announced recently, about which the composer Jeremy Soule doesn’t seem to be too pleased. “Concert? What concert???” he said in a post on his official Facebook page. “Anyone that knows me also knows that I care passionately about the integrity of my music. Skyrim took years for me to compose and it was constructed very carefully. Today, I’m seeing reports of a concert of Skyrim. This is the first I’ve heard of it.” Known as Skyrim in Concert, the event was announced by UK music promoter Senbla who has partnered up with Elder Scrolls makers Bethesda. Soule, however, says that he was never asked to be involved. “For the record, this concert has nothing to do with me, nor are the...

Fallout 4 And Skyrim Won’t Get Mods For The PS 4

Alas! After the E3 announcement where Bethesda said that they will be bringing the power of mods to consoles, allowing you modify your game as you please, Bethesda recently posted on their website that Sony will not allow the support for mods on the Playstation 4. Here’s what the announcement reads: “After months of discussion with Sony, we regret to say that while we have long been ready to offer mod support on PlayStation 4, Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want for either Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition. Like you, we are disappointed by Sony’s decision given the considerable time and effort we have put into this project, and the amount of time our fans have waited for mod support to arrive. We...

The Elder Scrolls Online To Get PS 4 Pro 4K Support

At the Sony PlayStation 4 Pro announcement event in New York City, it was revealed that The Elder Scrolls Online will be one of the first games to support the new PlayStation 4 Pro at launch via free game update. When the PlayStation 4 Pro launches on 10th November 2016, The Elder Scrolls Online will be immediately playable in native 4K resolution, whether purchased new, or with existing game discs. Since the game was originally designed for a wide range of PC specifications, ZeniMax Online Studios was able to scale up the presentation alongside the scaled up power of the PlayStation 4 Pro. For players, this means that if you play The Elder Scrolls Online on the PlayStation 4 Pro with a 1080p HD television, you will experience increased graphical fidelity; if a player uses a 4K monitor, th...

You Can Play Quake Champions Without The Champion Abilities In Custom Matches

Making arena type FPS characters more unique by giving them special abilities seems to be a new trend. Battleborn, Overwatch, even Call of Duty: Black Ops III, all give you some kind of powers based on the character you choose. Though the game will feature all the cool stuff that made us fall in love with the Quake series (including rocket jumping, fast movement, scurrying around the map for different weapons), Champions will be the first game to adopt this unique ability format. Fans of the classic Quake experience have had a mixed reaction to this, however. Many want the old school experience in today’s high detail graphics. “We want to make sure we give people what they want,” Project Lead Tim Willits said in an interview with Gamespot. “If you create custom game...

Nuka-World, The Last Fallout 4 DLC Trailer and Release Date Revealed

The last expansion for Bethesda’s Fallout 4, Nuka-World is coming out on August 30th for the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and the PC. As Bethesda had announced earlier, this will be the last DLC for the game. Nuka-World is a post-apocalyptic theme park, inspired by the Fallout world’s celebrated Nuka Cola drink and filled with Raiders (instead of your regular, happy families). Releasing a new trailer for the DLC, Bethesda also seems to have created a song for the expansive park, with the words surely to ring in your head, “A park with every minimum acceptable safety standard met.” There are various zones for the players to explore – a Safari Adventure, Kiddie Kingdom, Rock Gulch and the Galactic Zone, all filled with bloodthirsty enemies who are just waiting to kil...

Metal AF – DOOM Review

Demons, Hell and Big F***ing Guns. That was what DOOM was about back in 1993, and that is precisely what DOOM is about in 2016. At its best, it’s everything that you can want it to be: you, a lone soldier on a mission to eradicate demons, making his way from Mars to hell and back, and kicking ass all along. It delivers the same cathartic experience you had when you played it for the first time in pixelated graphics, using your imagination to see a floating monster head blow up with blood on your face in those tiny squares. While id software’s previous attempt to modernize DOOM with the third game may not have been that amazing an experience, they seem to have hit all the right notes with the fourth one. The game doesn’t pretend to be any more than what it is, and thatR...

Rage, The Evil Within May Get Sequels – Bethesda

After Bethesda announced Dishonored 2, a Skyrim remaster and DLCs for DOOM and Fallout 4, people have been speculating about what’s the next big thing for the studio. And while they have made clear that the next Elder Scrolls title is definitely not in the making, there may be something else coming our way. One small thing which seemed to leak through was a follow-up to 2014’s horror game The Evil Within. And now, Bethesda’s Vice President Pete Hines has said that the scarefest The Evil Within, and the action packed FPS Rage ahd both done well enough for the studio to think about making sequels. Nothing is concrete yet, mind you. In a conversation with  Finder at QuakeCon, Hines was asked about both the titles and the possibility of sequels in near future. Here’s a small ...

Enderal: The Shards of Order Out For Release Next Week

For those who are not familiar with the title, Enderal: The Shards of Order is a total conversion of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that you can play for free. Being developed by SureAI Studio, the game made its debut appearance back in 2013. Since then, there have been a lot of trailers and in June, the studio said that the English version of the game would be available in July. But the release got delayed due to some reasons, but the team has promised that it is indeed very close. @SM_Jericho Next week 🙂 — SureAI (@SureAITeam) August 4, 2016 Technically a mod for Skyrim, the game simply uses the graphical resources and engine used by the parent game, but has an environment, lore and story of its own. SureAI is the same team that made the critically acclaimed Oblivion mod Nehrim: At FateR...

DOOM Updates: New Modes, Guns, Armour and PartyPlay

After the classic center gun mode and the Vulkan API, id Software’s DOOM is getting another update this week. Free Update 2 includes two new multiplayer modes: Exodus and Sector. Exodus is a single flag “capture the flag” mode with a twist; the bases and flags keep moving constantly. Sector is more like a “capture and hold” game mode where one team captures an objective and defends it against the opponents in order to score points. Both the modes will be available to play on existing as well as new maps. The update will also add some new features to SnapMap, including customizable weapon wheel functionality – so players can carry and select multiple weapons, just like the campaign; jump pads with logic to set distance, speed and direction; 30 brand-new Hell-th...

Skyrim: Special Edition – $60 Too Much For A Remaster?

Remasters of old games have become commonplace, and overpricing issues with these remasters even more common. This time, Bethesda’s getting heat for putting a $60 price tag on The Elder Scrolls Skyrim: Special Edition.  As you may know, Skyrim is the fifth installment in The Elder Scrolls series and has been a favourite game for many gamers ever since its release. The Special Edition includes the critically acclaimed game and all three DLCs with remastered art and effects, volumetric god rays, dynamic depth of field, screen-space reflections, and more. Skyrim Special Edition also has support mod support for consoles, thus bringing new quests, environments, characters, dialogue, armor, weapons and more, which until now was only available on PC. Now, most of the people will definitely ...
