Ubisoft reportedly working on two Assassin’s Creed games for 2014.

Examiner sources said to be familiar with these upcoming projects, one is being developed for the next gen consoles, while the other is being developed for PS3 and Xbox 360. There is really no mention in the report of how PC and Wii U fit into these projects, which also claims that the franchise “is under a massive re-scope”. When approached yesterday about the claims made in the report, a spokesperson for Ubisoft told CVG the company doesn’t comment on rumours or speculation. Sometime in November, Ubisoft senior vice president of sales and marketing Tony Key said that the need to cater to the large Xbox 360 and PS3 installed bases had held back the Xbox One and PS4 version of Assassin’s Creed 4. Explaining why he believes many console launch games are underwhelming...

The Secret Connection b/w ASC and Watch Dogs

It’s been a while now that we’re hearing about whether or not there lies some sort of connection between two of Ubisoft front-liner games. There has been some speculation regarding whether Ubisoft’s upcoming hacker-centric Watch Dogs is set in the same universe as Assassin’s Creed. Watch Dogs is about a hacker who fights the powers of a corrupt city and the company that controls it. And if you think about it, Assassin’s Creed too has hackers fighting one front of a war against a corrupt and controlling corporation. In the video below, Assassin’s Creed 4 game director Ashraf Ismail quite clearly hints at a connection between the two games at this year’s E3 conference in an interview with Elder Greek. Assassin’s Creed 4 developers are PC fans

After a lot of talk about the fact that developers are unconcerned with PC optimization, Ubisoft has responded with a brief showcase of the design process behind games like Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Contrary to reports in the media, Ubisoft designers are “PC fans,” according to a new post by Communications Manager Gary Steinman. Steinman, a former editor of PC Gamer, had additional comments from Ubisoft associate producer Sylvain Trottier, who he says was “re-quoted out of context” in the media with regard to the PC version of ACIV. Trottier feels there is some confusion about how and when PCs are pushed to their maximum during the development process. Before any optimization work begins, there is an earlier phase that is all about discovering where the...

Since 2007 , The Assassin’s Creed franchise has spawned six main installments, three portable spin-offs, six supplementary mobile games, a wealth of graphic novel accompaniments, and even three short films. Ubisoft have made a superb franchise  only to be given a brilliant revival in Black Flag. Please feel free to jump in with your comments on all aspects of the series. 3. Your First Flawless Assassination I’ll take a wild stab in the dark (with a pun fully intended) and assume that most people ended up getting spotted at the last minute, or otherwise fumbled their approach to kill in the first few ga...

Assassin’s Creed series might never take place in present day

Following the release of their tribute to the pirate life, a handful of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag developers took to Reddit and addressed a few burning questions from fans. They avoided addressing where Ubisoft would take the series post-Black Flag, but that didn’t stop them from sharing where they thought the series wasn’t going. Lead Writer Darby McDevitt had a hard time believing Ubisoft would set an entire AC game in the present. “I doubt we would do a modern day AC,” he writes. “There are just too many mechanics we would have to develop to make it believable… vehicles, plausible modern cities, a huge array of ranged weapons, etc. The modern day will most likely remain as a ‘context’ for all future games, something to tie them all together.” McDevitt also ...

Michael Fassbender assigned main role in Assassin’s Creed Movie

Wouldn’t you think that the people making the ‘Assassin’s Creed’ movie would pick an actor who has at the least has played the game. Well, you’d be wrong if you thought so. Cause actor Michael Fassbender is all set to star in the Assassin’s Creed: The Movie, even though he has never played the game. In a recent interview the actor said that the roles in movies such as  X-Men and Prometheus have given him the freedom to explore less commercial pieces. When asked about pre-production on the film adaptation of Assassin’s Creed, Fassbender said: “That’s definitely happening. We’re just developing the script at the moment. I’d heard of it but had never played the game. I don’t have a video game player … that’s not what they’re called. [Laughs] I met up with the guy...

Assassin’s Creed Heritage Collection

Ubisoft has recently announced the release of the Assassin’s Creed Heritage Collection, which is a collection of entries in the series that is set to be featured on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on November 8. The collection is currently only announced for release in Europe and will contain the original Assassin’s Creed, Assassin’s Creed II (Game of the Year Edition), Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations and Assassin’s Creed III. The Heritage Collection is painfully similar to the Assassin’s Creed Anthology released last year. The difference between the two bundles is that the Heritage Collection comes without the extra DLC, pretty packaging and various extras of the Anthology edition. And as a result is for £39.99 / €50, w...

The story is about Arbaaz Mir, a new assassin who is out to bring down a “lifelong foe” that have taken over his land.  Assassin’s Creed:Brahman is set in 19th century India, which means that the series’ will continue the killing streak of evil British people.
