Subway Surfers Comes To Mumbai

Subway Surfers Comes To Mumbai

I know it’s been a while since Subway Surfers has received its latest update, but I happened to run the game the other day while I was on the metro and was surprised to see the update bring me to the streets of Mumbai. And for some reason I was really excited, you know like when you’re watching a movie or a serial and a reference to India or Indian culture is mentioned then you get that elated feeling right? Like when Tony Stark mentioned shawarma in the end of the Avengers movie, weren’t we all like “yaar kaal tho Kamla market mein shawarma khana hai.” But I just looked up the origin of shawarma and it isn’t Indian exactly but you get my drift.

I like how even the tunnels have got that dome shaped effect to it

Along with introducing new characters to the roster, the game has other visual amends that make it a “truly Indian” experience. It’s funny how they have said Mumbai but used the Delhi metro logo on the trains which again look suspiciously similar to the trains that run in the capital.

On the side of the roads you can see air conditioners which I thought was extremely funny, then they’ve got the fruit/vegetable shops as well which sorta give out that a Aladin look. And to top that you see the policeman in the in their famous brown coloured uniform.

They couldn’t have done much more other than having one of the characters asking you “phirst tame coming India?” or “You like spicy food?”
