Feral Interactive has officially launched the Imperium Update for ROME: Total War on iOS and Android. This significant free update introduces major gameplay enhancements and quality-of-life improvements, bringing modern refinements to the beloved strategy title. In addition, this update is set to arrive for Barbarian Invasion and Alexander, the standalone expansions, next week.

New Features for a Smoother Battlefield Experience

The Imperium Update incorporates advanced control options and key features from Feral’s more recent mobile adaptations of Total War: MEDIEVAL II and EMPIRE: Total War. These improvements provide a smoother and more intuitive experience, making battlefield commands more precise and accessible.

Key new features include:

  • Positioning Mode – Enhanced unit positioning for better strategic deployments.
  • Melee Mode – Improved engagement options for close-quarters combat.
  • Automatic Deselection – Streamlined unit selection mechanics for more fluid gameplay.

  • Keyboard and Mouse Support – Available for the first time on iPad and Android devices, giving players more control over their armies.
