So I’ve been using the Razer Kraken for about two weeks now and I’ve got to say that I’m pretty impressed with the product. As a drummer I tend to turn up the bass a bit more than usual as I like the feel of a kick drum. I don’t know, but I get into the beat quicker and it helps me get my groove on. Or maybe simply cause I like extra bass.
Anywayyyyy, once you have one of these wrapped around your head and you turn up the volume, the vibrations on your ears feel pretty insane. However this comes at the cost of draining out the highs and mids slightly.
Design
Once you get one of these headphones you’ll realize how thick the headband really is. And from the looks of it, it looks like something that will weigh quite a bit but doesn’t actually. Its a bit weird that there is more leather cushioning on top of the headband than underneath it. Nevertheless, the headband is quite sturdy and fits nicely around your head.
The grills on the outside of the ear cup look like an open ear cup design but actually is a closed ear cup design. This allows the sound to remain contained and also doesn’t allow people around you to get disturbed with your crappy taste in music
The 1.3m cable isn’t detachable but isn’t too big of a concern.The headphones really stand out though, I mean you look like a Chelsea goalie with the neon colors. So if you are one to flaunt your style and make your presence known, then you wouldn’t mind owning one of these.
Sound Quality
The bass as I mentioned earlier seems to be a little too overpowered and runs over the highs and the mids and pretty much drains them out.
It’s really good for gaming though, especially for those explosions, it really lets you feel the grumble. You can always use a third party application to fine tune these headphones and make it sound better.
Comfort and Durability
Despite its looks, the headphones are relatively comfortable. You can wear them for long hours and not really feel much discomfort. The comfortable cushioning and light weight result in longer hours of gaming.
The headphones seem quite durable too as they survived two weeks with me. I did try and take care of them but I can’t do anything to stop the occasion drops and spilled soda on the headset. Even after all that it serves me well.

Conclusion
In terms of looks, its something that will boil down to the individual and in terms of sound it has a bit too much bass but as an overall does quite well. The headset will set you back about Rs 5,600. So its a decent buy if you’re into something flashy and bright.
