It may not come as a surprise to many of us that this year the PlayStation 4 and Grand Theft Auto V were the top gaming-themed Google searches for 2013 in America, according to the company’s annual Zeitgeist report which was released earlier this week.
GTA V took the number one spot for the most searches in the the Video Games category, while the PS4 took the top spot in the Tech Gadgets sector, beating Samsung Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5S.
The Xbox One was the fourth biggest trending search for Consumer Electronics on a worldwide basis, but was not featured in any United States-specific lists.
Google defines “trending” as search topics with the largest increase in search volume since the previous period.
