Portable Steam Machine Is Going To Release Next Fall

The first of Steam Machines, the Steam Link, and Steam controller all go on sale November 10. The first Steam handheld has now got a price tag and and a release window.

The handheld, from hardware vendor Smach, will run SteamOS and will play “more than 1,000 games” on day one.

Device was formerly known as Steamboy, now officially named as the “Smach Zero”, will support the following specs:

  • AMD embedded G-Series SoC “Steppe Eagle” with Jaguar-based CPU and GCN-based Radeon graphics
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 32GB internal storage and SD Card Slot
  • USB OTG
  • 5-inch Touch screen with 720p resolution
  • Configurable tactile gamepads
  • HDMI video output connection
  • Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • 4G mobile network connectivity (PRO model only).

The device will debut the next fall, but will go on sale on November 10, 2016.with all the other Steam hardware, for $299 – a price which is, apparently, pre-order only. The device will be able to play the titles like Dota 2, Half-Life 2, and hundreds of others available.
