PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Crosses 2 Million Sales In Less Than A Month

In a recent news article we had talked about PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds selling more than a million copies in just 16 days, and it looks like it doesn’t plan to stop anytime soon. The game which had released via Steam Early Access on 23rd March, has doubled its player base and sold 2 million copies. All this in a matter of a few days.

Additionally, developer Bluehole has also announced that it will be matching donations up to $100,000 during their first charity invitational. Benefiting Gamers’ Outreach, the invitational will take place on 4th May. The event will start at 9 AM Pacific Time and will feature 32 two-player teams from both North America and Europe. You can watch the game on the official Battlegrounds Twitch Channel.

For those who don’t know about the game, PlayerUnkown’s Battlegroundis a third person battle royale shooter where the last man standing wins. Players are dropped on an island where they must look for weapons and supplies in order to survive against other people. The game comes from PLAYERUNKNOWN aka Brendan Greene, the creator of battle royale game modes for titles like ARMA and H1Z1: King of the Hill.  Greene is currently co-developing PlayerUnknowns’s Battlegrounds with Bluehole.
