[UPDATE]:
Warner Bros has now confirmed the release date and given us a few extra details on Cold Cold Heart’s storyline.
The “extensive” add-on will feature Mr. Freeze’s first encounter with Batman, which includes new locations like Wayne Manor, and include new gadgets – such as the Batman Extreme Environment suit, thermal gloves and Thermocharged Batarangs.
Batman: Arkham Origins’ upcoming story expansion Cold, Cold Heart will be available for download on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 22nd April, a new teaser trailer has revealed.
[Original Story]: So the surprise is finally out and it looks like Gotham City will be facing some serious winter. Warner Bros has updated their Batman Arkham Facebook page and said “all-new story DLC coming in 2014.” The image that came along with that update was of an award for the “Wayne Foundation Humanitarian of the Year” that depicts a woman holding up a heart-shaped diamond with shards of ice in the background.
The picture hints strongly at a new story DLC that will focus on Batman’s longtime enemy Mr. Freeze. Gamers who played Arkham City will remember Mr. Freeze as Dr. Victor Fries who puts his wife Nora into a cryogenic slumber in order to cure her of a fatal disease. Or others may remember Arnold Schwarzenegger, when George Clooney played Batman in Joel Schumacher’s Batman and Robin in 1997. Either way, could this be a beginning of Batmans struggle with another long standing enemy?
